In Mystcraft, there are 2 kinds of dimensions: stable and unstable.

The first is 'just another dimension'. The second however is unbalanced and comes with one or more negative sideeffects, one of those being differend kinds of so called 'decay'.

in your case, it is 'colored decay' that will sooner or later turn every block in that dimension into that violet goo block.

From the Mystcraft-Wiki:

Certain symbols will increase instability of an age simply by being used.

Currently the list of such symbols is Dense Ores and Accelerated.

So, basically, yes, a 'dense ore' dimension is doomed from the start. Always.

PS: That purple tower looks pretty epic nonetheless.

Correct. Not possible at all, unless you deactivate 'instabilities' altogether through the configs.

Maybe just build the rest of the age in a very stable way .

I seem to recall that if you add in other unstable symbols then this will sort of stabilise it.

So if you add meteor or charged (which aren't too bad if you hide underground all the time) then this sort of balances dense ores.. worth a shot anyway.

Well... here's how I would do it:
Make a cave world with dense ores, and then spam about 20 charged symbols (or more!). That should mop up any dense ores related instability.
