does it work without Project Red? If so, it might be simply an item id problem. And you will either have to fix the ids by hand or just remove the mod completely.

Remember, this is a playthrough of the Judging Alpha version; the problems I run into with forestry are fixed in the version available now.
 
PLEASE HELP... i have tried everything to get this pack working. it lookes like a great pack. but everytime i get the error message for missing the MrCore.....
i hav tried to do what was told be someone else by dowloading it from a other website and put it in my mod map. but still not working. yes the message is gone, but it crashing on starting up. i have tried it on the ftb launger en on curse, both the same problem. how can i fix this. again please help.. THX
 
I am in the same boat as you @mariska I have tried posting for help on here and Curse forums and noone seems to be able to figure out what the problems is and I am starting to wonder if its a problem with the launchers or somehting.
 
i'm playing more packs from ftb, and this is my first problem there.
so i don't think it's a problem of ftb. there is something wrong with one of the mods of forge included.. :-(
but i really hope they have a solution.. (ps sorry for my bad english, i'm dutch, hihi)

Things to note, that I did not know of at the time:
1. Although you need a large amount of food to make a food bundle to hire the NPC's, they have an ongoing food upkeep cost.
2. Although you need tools to make a fish farm / crop farm / etc., the NPC's need to be given a tool to tell them to use those farms.

I did not get any farther than this.
 
The start of this pack is epic. You have officially raised my expectations for how questline modpacks should begin.

Now- time for a bug report (with an interim fix for players), a suggestion, and some tips to other players.

First, the bug report: when I first downloaded the pack and tried to play it, I got an error saying it couldn't find MrTJPCore-1.7.10-1.0.7.14.jar. My current assumption is you forgot to include it in the FTB download; I found and added it manually from here. For interim instructions on how to make the pack work for the FTB launcher (on Windows, idk what to do on a mac), here goes:
  1. Download the file from the link above, saving it to your downloads folder (or wherever you have it set to save)
  2. In the search box in the start menu, type %appdata% and hit enter. This should open up a file browsing window that displays the files located in the file 'Roaming'.
  3. From there, go to TheLangoliers>minecraft>mods. This folder will have a lot of .jar files in it.
  4. Copy the download from step one into the mods folder. DO NOT UNPACK IT.
  5. Launch FTB and play TheLangoliers. If your only issue was this missing file, it should launch perfectly.
Second, the suggestion: since the early game is so heavily dependent on tree farming and it's really easy to starve right off the bat if you don't get enough apples and worms with your crook, consider buffing the rate at which trees grow and the drop chance of apples and worms crooks give you.

Third, tips:
  • Start a tree farm. The trees grow really slowly and when you run out of bonemeal, you might be screwed.
  • I am an idiot. Some of the trees (like oak and jungle) will not grow (barring bonemeal) if they are recessed a.k.a. there are blocks next to the sapling.
  • I am an idiot. The crucible is not a stone barrel. Making netherrack won't work in the crucible. All the crucible is for is melting things.

So this isn't a bug report exactly, but I am sitting with a ton of Sky Stone Dust from sieving dust that I can't do anything with (I haven't tried putting it in a smeltery yet but NEI doesn't show that you can put it in a smeltery so I'm not hopeful). If you could give Sky Stone Dust a use or remove it as a possible dust sieving drop, that'd be lovely. (I've been chucking it into the void so it doesn't take up chest space.)

EDIT :: Also not a bug report, but you may wish to change 'Applied Energistics' to 'Applied Energistics 2' on the list of mods included in the description on the FTB launcher (if even possible, it may be an FTB issue) as I was quite confused when trying to look for tutorials/spotlights. I figured out it was AE2 by checking the version of minecraft your pack runs. (AE2 runs 1.7.10, AE runs MC 1.6.x or MC 1.5.x)

Im having trouble growing anything. trees, cactus, wheat. nothing grows. ive tried bone meal, the watering can. i can get trees with bone meal but you only start out with so much and i cant seem to get anything else to grow with it. im not quite sure why. i have every thing ready to go to a cobble gen but i cant get this cactus to grow and im just going to sit here and die until i can get some water or melons and wheat to grow.
 
Guys, I need help. I installed the last version for the first time, I got the MrTJPCore-1.7.10-1.0.7.14.jar and put in the mod folder, thanks Symbolon. But the modpack don't start, in the loading window it stop in the step 5/7 and close and back to the ftb launcher. I play other modpacks in FTB launcher and don't have problem.

No, I didn't abandoned the project, but this is just a hobby, that I work mostly at my vacations and free time. I own a MarketResearch Company in Brazil, and i've been very busy lately. I've almost finished the release version 1.0. Just a few details and soon it will be online.

It's ok. I own a market in Brazil. hahahaha

It's work now, I installed first the version 0.21 and updated to 0.22 and works, the first time a insltalled 0.22 and don't started.
