I just downloaded this for my server {redacted advertisement}

Changes in 1.6:
+ Added Horses
+ Added Donkeys, Mules
+ Added Horse Armor
+ Added Leads
+ Added Carpets
+ Added Hardened Clay, Stained Clay
+ Added Block of Coal
+ Added Name Tags (item)
+ Added Hay Bales
* Texture packs are now “resource packs" that also can hold sound etc
* Food meter is now drained when healed by full food meter
* You can’t destroy blocks with a sword in creative mode
- Removed Herobrine

So, what are 'yer comments?

Honestly? It's nothing we didn't already have before via some mod or another.
The only thing I find interesting in it is the part about Swords in creative, but I've ended up using splash harming potions to evade the same issue so it doesn't make any difference to me.
So, for me, it needed something better to make it even worth noticing.

to be honest, I didn't really find anything fun about this update, since as starlion says, it's nothing that we didn't have before

I can - Forge and Integrated Sound Packs. Put the two together and mods can load whatever they want.
Honestly, unless the Modding API (whenever they eventually do release it) can do as much as Forge can, if not more, I can't see many mods adopting it though. Forge effectively provides access to practically anything a mod-maker wants or needs, so the only plus I can see for it is convenience.
The idea of turning everything into a Resource Pack in preparation for that is nice, but personally I'd have held off on re-breaking Texture Packs until after they finally decide if they're ever going to release the damn API.

This update was highly unnecessary, All they did was make a bunch of shit harder, i mean i gave up trying to install FORGE T_T, And add a few things that were already mod introduced, Let's go over these "Features" Shall we?

+ Added Horses - Mod teritory, Leave it that way
+ Added Donkeys, Mules ^
+ Added Horse Armor ^
+ Added Leads - Cool i guess, But kinda dumb to make a mod-busting update
+ Added Carpets - What's that mojang? Giving them one thing they've been asking for for ages?
+ Added Hardened Clay, Stained Clay - Why not stained glass mojang?
+ Added Block of Coal - Why not just call this the storage block update?
+ Added Name Tags (item) - I'm just SURE this one will have a billion clever uses, i can't really piss on it
+ Added Hay Bales - Just a storage block, keep your pants on
* Texture packs are now “resource packs" that also can hold sound etc -Nice job clusterfucking the file system, Is this why i can't even find the .jar file anymore?

1. They should leave Herobrine in for once. That would lead to some good laughs.
2. Someone inform Flowerchild - I think it's about time for a "Better than Horses" mod.

On a scale from "OMG Yay!" to "Blergh..crap." this update could manage to get a solid "Meh..." ;)

Horses- meh; we had pigs- how many games let you ride about on pigs huh? that was AWESOME. but nope lets forget the unique and do make it another RPG.
Also is anyone else struggling to control boats now?? Or zombies lag a little and behave in very predictable patterns?​
(something tells me that dinnerbone doesn't do enough [if any] play testing)​

But generally this was the fluff update- no real gameplay added, just loss of old style and then unnecessary miscellaneous junk added (coal block much?)

There's a separate team building that add on. FC gave up with vanilla and just rips it out now. Good job too.

EH, I really want to see some mods directed at horses. (they're going to be in the game now, just deal)
So what I want is a super rocket horse with laser guided missles and stuff. (probably just a luncher that only works while riding?)
I mean horses "with frickin' laser beams on their heads"
I know that the quantum armor and modular power suit and now dartcraft are all super crazy fast anyways, but a rocket horse would still be fun, right?
