Thaumcraft 4.2 wand consistently losing vis

Hi, I'm playing Thaumcraft 4.2 in the new pack, and my wand is randomly losing vis. Red arrows appear briefly over every aspect, the the vis just drains away. Is this some kind of new mechanic? It just started happening, everything was fine for a long time, and now it is impossible to keep a wand charged. I even made a new wand, but the same thing is happening. At first I thought it must be something to do with warp, but there are no active warp effects when it's happening.

This is driving me crazy, and making the game impossible to play. Any advice?

Are you wearing any other Thaumcraft gear? Also, when you're in the inventory screen are there any strange buffs on the left side of your character image?

I'm wearing enchanted Thaumcraft gear, a T harness, robes, BoT but I tried taking it off. And no, no active warp effects. Just red arrows that appear every second or so, and the wand apparently loses vis even if it's not in my inventory.

Ah ha. It's the repair. I emptied my inventory and it stopped. Thanks. Maybe it had been happening all along, and I hadn't noticed. This really nerfs repair, it drains quite a lot of vis.

^ What he said. I actually avoided the enchanted gear, since I usually could make some pretty awesome stuff with Tinker's Construct. The Thaumostatic Harness should be fine though.

You're using Thaumcraft 4.2? I've never had a problem with draining before. Does it only happen in your base? Does it happen when you're far away from any thaumcraft blocks? Perhaps there's something in your base setup that could do that... though I think I know what's going on I haven't used thaumcraft in a month and my memory is fuzzy.[DOUBLEPOST=1412451077][/DOUBLEPOST]

Thanks for the help. It seems to drain when the tools are in your hotbar, along with the wand. It actually repairs quite quickly, as soon as I get a wand recharging station it'll be less of a pain! I'm really enjoying Thaum 4.2 so far. If Azanor ever begins a project, I'm helping to kickstart it!

I like it too... and then I wander too close to a hungry node when I am not using the stuff from the mod and I get a little mad. Cause ouch.

If you end up getting into the runic stuff as well, bear in mind that it also costs vis from your wand to regenerate the shields.
