Thaumcraft 3 problem - wand recharge broke?

Hi all, I've been having problems with both single/multiplayer Mindcrack and direwolf20 modpacks.

For some reason 'sometimes' my wands dont recharge, and 'sometimes' my goggles dont reveal the guage (bottom left of screen).
For instance, i've been playing through DW20's map along with his playthrough. (doing exactly what he does).
I made my thaumcraft 9x9 ( ;-p ) made my wand where he did but mine didnt recharge like his did.

I thought maybe it had something to do with generation so i decided to test it by NEI'ing a pair of goggles and lo and behold the was +680 on the guage. I relogged but it still would charge my wand.
So at the moment i have to go 100m's ish away to make my wand recharge which is VERY annoying.

My daughter decided to play along with DW20 aswell on our other pc, she did exactly the same as me and her wand recharges!! WTH! i said.

This leads me to beleive that Could my client files be messed up in anyway? Obviously i havent changed any configs, all is default.

Any guidence anyone can offer would be appreaciated

The fact it works 100m or so away makes it just sound like you are not close enough to an aura node not sure if you have to be within a certain range of a node for it to recharge what you could try is either find (or if you don't mind a little cheating spawn) a silverwood sapling and let it grow then that should generate a node near where you planted it do that outside your house and see if it recharges there then.

what i dont get is i did the same seedgen as DW yet his works, my kids works too mine doesnt.
i thought if you did exactly the same seed as someone else it gens the same?

it can be that the node gen doesn't depend on the seed

You get the Vanilla terrain gen from the seed, all the mod world gen is accounted for after the initial world gen and is only semi dependent upon the seed with some of it being completely independent of the seed.

If you only used the same Seed as DW20 doesn't guarantee the same world just similar.

What does, however, guarantee the same world, is downloading his world file from the FTB Launcher's Map tab.
