I would have really. I was seconds away from that ... but it's a SMP server of which I'm admin and I'm not alone on there - so I just swallowed my rage and crawled off to a new corner.

With worldedit you can select the area you want and do //regen and it will regenerate the area according to the seed the map currently has. you can also use //chunk to select the chunk you are currently standing in. Do note that sometimes with villages when you regenerate it will... ehm.. cut them in half :p

There are no villages there, so doesn't bother me. I will definitely look into it! Thanks a lot!

If need be I can make a tutorial on youtube on how to install MCPC+ and worldedit on a FTB server. It is definitely worth it and so far I have installed many plugins without bugs. It is indeed amazing and very useful.

Well I'm not saying "do a tutorial" .. but some form of direction would be appreciated so I don't cock up the map. I know my way around MC servers as I've been doing this for years, but I never really bothered to edit maps directly.

BACKUP YOUR WORLD AND SERVER FILES BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT THIS!
First install MCPC+, it is fairly simple. Make sure you get the right jar file of it and rename it to Server.jar, replace the old default Server.jar with the new Server.jar (MCPC+ one), Start the server up make sure everything is running fine, there should now be a plugins folder. Go grab worldedit from the bukkit plugins, I will add all the links at the end of my post. Plop worldedit.jar into the plugins folder after you have correctly stopped the server using /save-all and /stop. Add it in and relaunch the server. It should load everything up just fine. Once you login try typing //wand and it should give you a wooden axe, then you will know if it has installed worldedit correctly.

After that find the area you want to reset, such as the forest that was mangled by meteorcraft. You can either A select the area you want to regen or select individual chunks with //chunk and it will select the chunk you are standing in, and you would then type //regen. You can also manually select an area with //pos1 and //pos2, it will select the block your feet are at even if it is air. To regen/reset the chunks you would need to go all the way up to y 256 and all the way down to Y 0 using both positions. There is many worldedit tutorials out there. It is a fairly simple plugin and can be mastered with a bit of practice and tutorial watching.

Here are the links you will need.

http://ci.md-5.net/job/MCPC-Plus/

http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/worldedit/

Grab the files corresponding to your version of minecraft. Make sure you grab stable builds!

Please post if you have any issues. Thank you and enjoy!

I tip my hat in your general direction good sir.

I'll try it tomorrow, as I'm too tired right now, and would probably muck something up. I'll let you know how it turns out :)

Thank you muchly.

That worked an absolute treat!

Made a bit of a mess with the trees, but I'm not complaining! I'm very happy.

Any other benefits for keeping MCPC+ instead of default FTB server?

Haha.. I thought a meteor hit a tree. I posted about this last week. I was afk and came back to the horrible mess. :

I'd urge anyone who cares about asthetics to remove this mod immediately.

At first I thought, "Great, this adds some danger to the game." After a few meteor strikes over the past week I was enjoying it... right until I went afk for 20 minutes in my base to put my son to sleep while my ores were processing.

Apparently a meteor hit the top of a Natura redwood tree thats planted on top of my base and shattered into a million pieces sending blocks all over the place in about a 100 block radius. It looks like a griefer came on my single player world in creative and just placed random blocks everywhere.

Keep in mind, it was MUCH worse than this, but I did clean up a bit... it's still terrible so you can imagine how much worse it was. From my base to the far island.. it wasn't fun to clean up. The entire landscape looks very messy now.
