But she doesn't always take kindly to bug reports from people outside the test group.
Yeah you might have more luck talking to sp614x about Optifine's quirks.God forbid.
Modders, I swear...
You know, the quoted reply is sounds really great but I have NFI what it is about.Optifine has been cropping up as a source of problems more and more as mods get more creative in rendering and using different shading/effects methods. Good news is, Forge has gotten better and better at incorporating the performance gains that people use Optifine for in the first place. Bad news is that means mucking around with installing newer versions of Forge directly into the .jar and also spending time figuring out the possible causes of the performance hits in the first place since you can't just throw Optifine at it as a cure-all.
And of course, all this might change in a week or month or when 1.6/1.7/65.8 rolls around. I used Optifine for quite a long time prior to 1.5.x and dropped it when it started causing me problems, found different fixes for the problems it used to solve, and will almost certainly wake up with new problems down the road.
Yayyyy playing a living development sandbox is fun.
