Hi Guys,

I've been trying to install Terrafirmacraft using Multimc but keeping getting a crash,it seems to be something to do with Thermal expansion and i was wondering if anyone can help?

Also does anyone know of a thirst mod that works with Ftb ?

You need to go to the config files and change the block IDs. Uninstall TFCraft, make a new creative flat world, and use NEI to adjust the config files so that they don't conflict with anything you already have in NEI.

And would someone please explain to me why people try to install Terrafirmacraft with Technical Mods? They're like, polar opposites. Plus, you need diamonds for technical mods, and diamonds are virtually non-existant in TFC (although it's been a few versions since I've played...)

I'll try that then,thank you,as for installing Terra with mods like Thermal expansion I've only just started playing Minecraft and wanted to add a few mods I liked the look of without messing with the mod pack.

Despite this only being a item conflict i have heard that the two generations fonflict with each other making it impossible to find certain items.

Terrafirmacraft is imo best played standalone or with very carefully selected other mods since it changes vanilla mechanics and gameplay beyond all recognition on it's own, so other mods expecting certain conditions won't find them.

That said TFC is a lot of fun in it's own horrifically frustrating, damn that takes a long time, but I DID IT, way :D

Unless the ore dictionary is set right playing TFC with those mods is going to be... impossible really. For one thing in TFC the iron is different and I'm not sure can be smelted into refined iron for things in IC2 the next thing is the lack of actual diamond ores and instead finding gems that likely won't be able to be used for things like the diamond drill. I mean I have tried about ten different mods with TFC that worked but never anything that relied on a vanilla or mod ore since the stone in TFC is different. Really anything that adds in a new ore or relies on vanilla is going to likely be an issue. I'm sure someone could probably write code to force it to work or get the ore dictionary to work but as far as I know TFC is really a standalone mod with a few things like the backpack and the more arrows mod being exceptions.

As everyone here has said, Terrafirmacraft doesn't go well with many mods. So as some friendly advice, do not play TFC with Thermal Expansion. If you want to try out TFC, I'd suggest playing it without any other mods. If you use MultiMC, you can have different instances of Minecraft, and one of them can be solely TFC.

I have actually heard of someone getting railcraft to work with TFC. There is a config option that allows items to become vanilla again (wrought iron to normal iron). Literally the only problem is mods that affect world gen besides that TFC is even a mod folder mod. In other words compatability certainly is possible. Someone just needs to work hard to get it done.

I wish that someone made a small addon to TFC to have its ores and materials work with the FTB mods, to simulate a tech tree similar to Better Than Wolves. I think that would be amazingly fun!

Imagine having to smelt hematite into iron and steel the hard way in TFC with a bloomery, but then being able to later on upgrade to use Railcraft's Blast Furnace to process it and then later on to IC2 Electric Furnaces.
