Just wondering about how to start unlocking Eldritch stuff. I've done tons of research, made tons of stuff, and eating 17 zombie brains. I still don't have the Eldritch tab, so I can't start doing any of the crazy stuff.

Anyone have any advice on how to get some serious warp going on?

Also, I've checked the wiki, and they have lists of warp stuff, but they don't really say how to go about each step. Is there a list somewhere that explains how to obtain each step of Eldritch?

I heard somewhere that temporary warp doesn't count toward unlocking the Eldritch tab, so zombie brains won't help you much. Try flesh golems- each one actually contains all the aspects needed to craft another, so you can rack up sticky warp fairly cheaply by tossing a flesh golem into a crucible, then following it with a flesh block. The result is another flesh golem, some excess Corpus, and a little warp.

Also, the Whisperweed from Botania (or was it Forbidden Magic?) will give you warp as well as research points, although it's probably temporary warp and may not help you much.

i think u need stacks of zombie brains if use that method

the wisperweed is from forbidden magic no clue if it only gives temporary warp was doing other research while it was sitting next to me eating mana

i swear ive read someone say it got harder to make flesh golems and that way no longer worked something about the aspect amounts not lining as they did before still a nice way of getting there u just need to double check the aspects on the ithems used and the output ithem u get at the end

Don't you need that "Eldritch Book" that drops off those Eldritch guardians at that generated structure?

It's not a requirement to get the first Eldritch Revelation which unlocks the first part of the tab, but it is required for for the second one - the Eldritch Epiphany which actually lets you access the Outer Lands easily and unlocks the related researches.

Actually, not quite right, you can certainly get Eldritch Epiphany without touching a Cultist. It's literally the Opening the Eye Research for getting to the outer lands that needs the research from the book (and the Epiphany) done.

Rember that both of the Eldritch Unlocks are locked behind warp events, so you can't expect to get them unlocked if you constantly under warp ward. This does mean that it is somewhat subject to rng as well. You will probibly also want to keep getting some warp occasionally to keep the events rolling. I think I've got it with only research and zombie brains before, but I can't remeber for sure, it usually comes when I'm not expecting it.

Zombie Brains have a chance of giving you Sticky Warp, which DOES count.

Whisperweed gives temp warp which does NOT help.

There are two "major" Eldritch unlocks that you get via warp: Eldritch Epiphany and Eldritch Revelation.

If you simply perform all the forbidden knowledge research you will get warp events, and they will eventually give you the Eldritch Epiphany - which gives you access to the Eldritch Tab, with void metal, wand Focus Primal and the sanity meter research. Yay.

And Eldritch Revelation is required to access the "Opening the Eye" research necessary to visit the Outer Lands, and this is the one you need to eat Zombie brains for. The number of Zombie brains is in the order of two complete stacks, but you must time them carefully:

1. Create a Sanity Meter - when you first get it, the Sanity Meter will probably be about 1/3 full of purple, because you needed warp to research it in the first place. There are three colours of purple: The bottom will be a dark purple - which represents your permanent warp. Above that is a bright purple - your sticky warp, and above that a more transparent purple - your temporary warp. Above the sanity meter is a brain. The brain is important.
2. When you are at maximum warp, the sanity meter will be visually full, and the brain icon will change to a brain-with-lightning-bolt. While in this state, REGARDLESS OF WARP TYPE, if an warp event dings there is a chance to get an Eldritch Revelation.
3. So, when you want to get the Revelation, if you are not maxed out with permanent and sticky warp, you must continually eat brains to keep the Sanity meter at the lightning-bolt-brain level.

The reason people are under the misapprehension that temporary warp does not count is that temporary warp fades very quickly, so you need to consume rather a lot of brains - over time - to keep the warp meter full.

However, practically, my warp meter is 1/3 permanent, 1/3 sticky (that I havn't bothered to clear) and 1/3 empty (because all my temporary warp that I used to get revelation has subsequently faded).
