Been playing FTB for a bit recently, and had been very much satisfied with it. However, after the recent update have i found something that I feel needs to be pointed out; there should be an option to downgrade your client in case the servers you play on haven't updated.

The two mods have been removed, and I can't join the server I play on. Maybe the mods should be disabled instead of deleted to allow playing on older versions (or maybe I missed out on something, but i couldn't find anything after searching for quite a bit. If there had been a thread like this before, I apologize).

But yeah, searched for a bit already, but I couldn't find older versions of FTB available for download online or anything, so maybe it'd be good to have such a function in-built into the launcher. I know it asks before updating, but it'd still be a convenient function to have.

Most mods should work fine when the client got them and the server got them disabled. The only small difference is that recipes invalid for the server shows up in NEI. I believe that this needs to go to here.

Right, sorry for the wrong category post. Been getting issues connecting to the server hosted by my friend though. FTB says ExtraBees and PortalGuns are required but could not be found.

Then it is not you having too many mods, but too few mods. try to backup your instance and try to install again.

Moved!
@neoncraze This was indeed an overnight update that took put ExtraBees and changed the Portal block IDs. You might want to talk to the server owner and synchronize with their install for now. It is indeed a good suggestion.

Ok listen, the client version got updated 2(ish) days ago, and so did the server but my client didn't auto update, I had to wiped the folder re-download the client and run it again to update.

The SERVER software does not auto update, so this means you can end up with a new client with a mixture of new servers and old servers. If you try and connect the new client to the old server it wont work and harp on about extrabees and portalgun incompatibilities.

If the server updates and the client doesn't then you will have the incorrect portalgun version on the client.

I'm having the exact same problem, needed 1.4.2v0.2 of portal gun and the extra bees 1.4. At first I just installed them and logged in but it (my client) crashed when using a linkbook. Couldn't get on after that. Now I get java.lang.RuntimeException: java.lang.NullPointerException regardless of what I try.
Maybe it's a good thing to not to all of these mini-releases and instead release good auto-updates for both the server and client at the same time.
