Sudden crash at startup, worked fine the day before

I've been playing on and off in a Mindcrack 8.1.1 world for a month or two now. The launcher is set fixed to that particular version, and as such, there are never any updates running. It all worked fine until yesterday... but today, all of a sudden, Redpower crashes on startup with a NPE or three. If I disable Redpower, it starts fine, but I can't load my world like that. It would ruin everything.

I'm also loath to reinstall the pack, because my configs are heavily modified (and I mean heavily).

Why would it do that out of the blue? I literally didn't make any changes to the modpack, the mods that are enabled or disabled, the configs or anything. I quit the client normally yesterday evening after an hour or two of gameplay, and today it's not starting up anymore. What gives?

Before we start with other things, be sure you uninstall all java, restart, and install the newest version of java for your computer. Should still be java 7u21. Post a new pastebin if the error continues.

I'd say backup your config and save folders, stick them somewhere safe, then delete the whole modpack folder. Then after letting the launcher re-install the whole pack, run it, maybe create a test world and derp around with stuff for a while (Particularly RP2 stuff). If it all seems OK copy over your configs and repeat the above process. Then, if it still doesn't crash, copy over the saves and try it again.
