Stuttering Problem! Please Help!

Hello everyone,

I just started getting into modded minecraft servers a few days ago by hosting my own tekkit server where me and my friend could get on and play. Worked flawlessly with no lag at all and no problems to speak of. I then decided to try to make my own modded server so I could add my own mods instead of using a launcher. That is where everything went down hill...

For some reason when I finally put my mods in and ran the server I would get this stuttering problem which were like very small lag spikes that occurred when I would run, jump, lookaround, etc.

I then read about FTB and decided to make a server for that and try it out. I installed the launcher, ran it, it installed the mods and it started right up. However, I was still getting the small lag spikes as i were before on my own server. My friend however who has a worse PC than me can get on the server and have no lag and no issues what so ever. I even went as far to completely re install windows 7 to see if there were things on my computer that could be causing the stuttering. Re downloaded, started up the server and still had the same problem.

Computer specs:
AMD Phenom II X4 955 Processor 3.2 GHz
16 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti
Windows 7

If anyone has any idea what the problem could be please reply!

I tried the things that he mentioned but it still did not help...[DOUBLEPOST=1370565483][/DOUBLEPOST]Finally found my problem!
I guess because it was taking the server as the highest priority, it was making me lag. That is why my friend wasn't lagging but I was.
All i had to do was set my minecraft to a higher priority.
Server still runs fine and everyone is happy
