Stuck at 7/7 8/27 Sound Handler

  • Tech Support section is for getting help with FTB related problems. If there's a repeatable issue that can be labeled as a bug, then please use the issue tracker for the pack or the app at GitHub issue trackers - If there's no repository for a pack that means that the pack is old and/or will not be updated. Bugs for older packs will not be fixed, unless they are critical.

The same thing happened when I tried to use SkyFactory 2.5, so I had to uninstall it, but it never worked.

What are your system specs? Everything looks fine until we hit this line in the server log. This looks like the CPU isn't fast enough to handle running both client & server for a single player. Have you tried to join any servers rather than do single player?

It normally works perfectly without a modded client, or not many mods, even in multiplayer large servers.

4096MB RAM
INTEL(R) Core(Tm) i5-5200U CPU @ 2.20GHz ( 4 CPUs), ~2.2GHz
DirectX 11.
Is there any way at all I can run it well? I really wanna play it.

How much ram do you have total? Or is 4gb the full total? Most large modded packs (ex: infinity) use 4gb on there own.

4GB is the ram total. I added 3g to the modpack. Should I remove some? or will it never work.

My guess (bear in mind I'm no tech guru) is unless you add more ram... you may not be able to play. That being said... have you tried a single player world that isn't a server? If you can get that to run you can play that way

I am trying to play the modpack in single player, but it doesn't work. I can play minecraft normally and with few mods, both single player and multiplayer, but not with this modpack. Is there any way I could do it?

They really don't. It is suggested that you give at least 4 gigs of RAM for the process, and it definitely can use that much, but you can play the flagship packs with 2.5gb~ just fine with the occasional stuttering.

The OPs issue here seems to be more related to the very slow CPU he's running from the quick glance I managed to make before heading to the dream

You might be able to runs some of the lighter packs like FTB Lite or FTB Retro. But without a better CPU and more RAM. You will not be able to run larger packs like infinity or sky factory.

Since he only has a total of 4GB of RAM, he should never assign more than 2GB of RAM to one or a few heavy programs, to avoid "choking" his system processes.

In the current software universe, even 2GB might be too much, because semi-heavy programs, like Skype or the Chrome browser could still easily claim too much of the last bit of RAM.
