Here's a pickle for ya, where I hope someone might help.

I run a Monster server, with its own set of added mods, custom configs etc etc.

I want to able to run a separate single player Monster for myself, with a completely different set of mods, config and rules. I'm finding this rather simple requirement to be kinda hard.

I split 2 separate FTB installations in different folders, however launcher from both folders always sticks to one common config (I'm guessing, pulling from registry), so I can't even have both launchers point to different folders, as they always take on the latest entry.

Any ideas?

I can think of a couple options. The most straightforward one would be to copy your monster folder to MultiMC5, then add/delete the mods you want for SSP. Another thought would be to download one of the other 1.6.4 packs you're not using, add/delete mods as you wish. The universal configs should, I imagine, handle the ID conflicts. In other words, you can make, say, the DW20 pack into Monster (or whatever hybrid you like) and the launcher would be none the wiser. Just make sure you decline auto-updates to that pack, and make regular backups ('natch).

What I do, is I "corrupt" another mod pack by dropping in the configs and mods from the pack I want to have a second config for. I use this mainly for testing out new server builds so I dont need to stop playing MC for days or revert my changes. I am currently using FTB lite for my main MC playing and FTB DW20 for my beta builds. I also have it for beta builds so I can update the DW20 pack in the launcher and try it out before I tweak it up.

As long as you set the version rather than leave it as recommended, the pack wont alter itself. Also make sure to hit "edit mod pack" before you launch or the launcher doesnt realize you messed with the list.

I started doing this the other day, and its been working out great. I suggest you do this too to make things easier on you.
