Soul Shards

How do you create one now? I follow the endstone/netherrack/glowstone setup from the MCForum thread for his mod, and it does do anything when I use my diamond. You also can't create soul forges to create soul shards anymore or make vile swords.
Whats the new way to make vile swords if that's possible anymore?

ah... somebody in the thread figured it out that you have to lay it horizontally, not vertically. There is no vile sword, and there is no soul stealer enchant. Wondering why this broken mod is in a FTB mod pack.

because I'm trying to more effectively get wither heads, is this a case better suited for the mfr spawner + mob essence processing?

In some DW20 video I've seen that there are new sould shard tools, a sword and a pick(?).
However, these had no textures or crafting recipes.
But that was some time ago, I recommend checking via @mod.soul in nei.

I have them in the 1.5.2 dw20 pack, they are called shadow blade/pickaxe. But they are not implemented yet, hoping for 1.6

Regarding Soul Stealer...

Dartcraft, tier 4 I think? Tome in 1.5.2, and tier 7 tome in 1.6.x.

Use soul wafers, via smelting a bottled entity, to apy soul stealer.
Its one level of soul stealer per soul wafer, to a max of 5.

Try

Place down a block of glowstone (qty 1)
Against each flat edge place a block of netherrack (qty 4)
Against each flat edge of nether rack place and end stone (qty 8)

So in effect you have (A)ir (G)lowstone (N)etherrack (E)nd Stone

You don't need the extra 12 end stone.

It's in the 1.6 series. You infuse a Force Sword with Grinding, kill mobs, and you might get Mob Chunks, which can be used to create the spawner. It's all in NEI with the latest version; he includes a Dartcraft plugin for NEI.

Probably because it works just fine if you know what you're doing. The only thing broken with it is the one thing that has always been broken with it, balance.

yes, if you catch a wither skeleton in a safari net and have the mfr spawner set to exact copy it will spawn wither skeletons. If you don't use exact copy I think it just spawns any kind of skeleton.

having a cheapo tinker's construct steel sword with a paper hand guard and putting beheading 5 or 6 on it will make you get wither skulls very quickly. Just make sure you dont replace the tool rod or blade with paper, or it'll do crap damage and/or have almost no durability, just the modifier parts.

soul stealer enchant is still there...i have a xp turtle making books for me off a cow grinder and i see soul stealer III/IV books. combine 2 IV's for a V...nothings broke here
