Anyone know why my sorting machine's blue path is jamming up from cobble/dirt/gravel but not soulsand/netherrack? Anything in the yellow path works fine.... I have been bashing my head in over this and would appreciate the help :)

Your screenshots don't really show anything relevant, so all I can give you is the basic behavior.

Redpower tubing gets clogged up when all valid target inventories for an item currently in transit become full 8and thereby invalid). The tubes will then "backstuff" the item, i.e. return it to the sender (in this case, your sorting machine). Only when there are valid target inventories again, the sorting will resume.

My guess is that whatever you're doing with the cobblestone, you have so much throughput that the inventory on the other side of the tube can't handle it. Recycler gets fed faster than it can recycle, chest fills up, or anything similar.

Wherever you are sending the default items plus cobble is clogged up. More info on your setup would be nice

Hmm good points and I appreciate the reply. I guess I didn't even think to show anything else because each path is lined with barrels on the inside of the building none of which are anywhere full. The sorting machine has not been back feeding at all; that I would understand and be able to address.

What seems to happen is that when I put anything from the blue paths in the source chest the sorting machine jams. It doesn't back feed, the items don't even leave the machine even though there are valid inventories with room. Now if I place a chest down on top of the intersection pictured the machine spits out the nicely colored packets (which then go into the chest instead of their designated colors). This is occurring even though the barrels all only have one of each item in them.

So this rules out full inventories I would think. I wasn't even doing anything with it other than to make sure it sends things to the correct locations so pure item quantity shouldn't be a problem either.

Odd. Your dirt and gravel should never go down the blue path.

Had an issue one time where every single item came out marked white when only one kind of item was to be sent down the white path and the others were spread among three other colors. Just had to change colors and it worked fine, you might have a similar issue.

Zaik - Yeah as pictured they shouldn't go down that path. I was swapping the cobble with dirt and gravel to see if I was going crazy. Cleaned out the blue paths except for what worked (soul sand/netherrack) and one item that didn"t (anything else). Figured if I reduced variables Id have more chance of figuring it out.

As I said in reply to Zaik I am aware that right now the only things to go down blue are soulsand, netherrack, and cobble. When testing other blocks I switched them with the cobble in the blue path....

That suggests each barrel on the blue path as something in it, and none of those somethings are what you're putting in the blue path.

If it works if you place achest on top of the intersection, then the reason it doesn't work is because it doesn't detect any valid target inventories down the blue side of the tube, OR because the tube itself is an invalid path. If for example there is any other color than blue painted on the tube at any point, it will become invalid because blue colored items may only enter blue tubes and uncolored tubes.

Also, are you inserting into the barrels from the top? You can only insert into barrels from the top, not from any other side. If you're trying to feed them from the back, for example, the barrel won't be a valid inventory because it cannot be fed from the back face.

And there we go. I forgot entirely that the only valid input was the top of the barrel! I believe that the cobble barrel is trying to get fed through the bottom. Jeeze...I should have realized that.

If you ever want to unjam a RP machine just grab a chest and drop it on the tubing next to the machine, whatever didn't have a valid destination will come out, so you can see it and let the chest grab it before you break the chest.
