Hello,

I am new to the FTB site, but have been playing the mod packs for a while now. I have also been watching the website/forums for some news about developments with the launcher and new mod packs.

Before the flames start flying, let me say that I know it takes time to develop things. I get that. No problem.

What I DON'T get, though, is why FTB is so silent when it comes to updates about what is going on in terms of development. Perhaps there are updates in other locations on the web, etc., but I don't want to go on a scavenger hunt to find them. That is why they have a website with forums.

It takes only a few minutes to type up an update for people. It would seem logical that the good folks behind FTB could take few minutes even once a week to put something out there. There are numerous ways to feed the FTB community with information. We don't always need an update with an exact date of release, but give us something to show us that you're doing more than constantly checking the bank account to see how many sales you've made.

And to the FTB fanbois out there that will snap off in their defense, go ahead and kiss their feet, but there is no excuse for not keeping the community updated on the status of the launcher and new mod packs (even if FTB mod packs are cool and fun), especially when they are touting a store.

Like anyone else, I would love to have some of the goodies from the store, but I refuse to part with any of my money until they start putting some relevant updates out there for the community. Pay me with a little knowledge about the mod packs I love, and I'll return the favor with cash.

I just find the whole "Soon" statements they make to be a carrot on a stick, in hopes that you'll pull out the ole debit/credit card and buy their merchandise.

PLEASE prove me wrong FTB developers!

Just my 2 coppers.

Like me and my opinions, or don't. Doesn't matter to me.

I think you missed the point. I don't want to do a world wide web scavenger hunt to find information that should be posted regularly right here on this website.

Ftb can take while to update and post what is going on because one they don't get paid for this so they can take as long as they want to post how it is going and two direwolf usually has all the info on pack updates if you watch his videos

Sometimes, rather depressingly you have to go visit the reddit forums for updates as to what's going on, it seems some staff post regularly on reddit and not here.

Classless, I think you missed the point too, they are starting to earn money... right now they are posting news about new sponsorships, shops and that kind of stuff... I think that it's okay, but it would be nice to have some news about the new launcher/new modpack versions too

And to the FTB fanbois out there that will snap off in their defense, go ahead and kiss their feet[...]

And this is an example of what gets threads locked before they even get very far off the ground. This is a forum, not your personal rantboard. Get a blog.

When you find out a way to get developers to give you an exact to-the-dot ETA on something in progress, please let me know. The entire software industry would be very interested in your amazing precognitive methodology and you would probably be an overnight millionaire. Until then, "Soon" is what you get, with specific bits of updates as more precise information is actually known.
