Solar Panels

Heyo!

I went and removed the advanced solar panels mod (cause Im a wimp and prefer the IC2 recipe) but Its still requiring the more costly recipe; I removed the mod both manually and via the launcher. Am I missing something somewhere?

GregTech is the mod that changes the IC2 solar panel recipe. You can either change the config file for GregTech to revert to normal, or disable GregTech mod, whatever is your preference.
GregTech also makes a number of other blocks in IC2 more expensive too. These can also be reverted to original materials in the config.

I've disabled GregTech and Advanced Solar Panels, and put in Compact Solar Panels as that suits my single player preference.

Go into FTB directory/FTBBETA/Minecraft/config/

Then open GregTech.cfg and search for "usefullrecipe" line.

If you set false to ExpensiveSolarRecipe it will use the old cheap recipe

There are 3 mods that meddle with solar panels:
- GregTech: Changes the vanilla recipe
- Compact Solars: Lets you condense panels down. The next tier is made my surrounding a transformer with 8 of the like-tier panels (e.g. the LV array is 8 panels around an LV thransformer, and so on). The performance of the array is equal to the performance of the components (LV array is 8eu/tick, etc.)
- Advanced Solars: Gives different recipes for advanced panels (using new materials, etc.). The performance of the panels is also different, they have internal energy storage and work at night.

Compact Solars is another mod that isn't in the FTB pack, so you would have to add it yourself. The good thing is they have made it very easy to do so.

If you're playing online the server has to alter the recipe in the server config, no amount of changing your local config will alter what the server tells you to do (in this case).
