Why won't it work? AFAIK you can use Aluminum to make tool/ ingot molds?

You need aluminum brass. I believe its 3 copper and 1 aluminum.

It looks like you have pure Aluminum in there... By default the mold recipe requires either gold or Aluminum Brass, which in turn has it's own recipe, 3 Aluminum to 1 Copper if I recall correctly.
