Simple question, with a simple answer I am sure. Why is biomes o plenty always disabled? I've downloaded and played every Direwolf version up to date, and fixed mods when needed. ( Its not fixed as often on server due to compliance ) As for the Biomes O Plenty, the new 1.14, and it seems to show up in the game, but in the mod list it is disabled. Not to mention the most up to date biomes is Biomes-O-Plenty-0.5.9.4-1.5.2 . ( rather than 0.5.9.3 which doesn't fix all issues) which I have running on our 1.1.2 server with ZERO ID conflict straight from the config it builds when run. my question.... is bibliowoods-BOP and bibliowoods.forestry (sp?) actually the fixed biomes of plenty mod?, and biomes-oO-Plenty-x.x.x.x.x actually SUPPOSED to be disabled in all the verrsions? I would love to get this simple querry answered before I upgrade our server to 1.1.4 when released, because I've never understood why Biomes is disabled by default, but heavily specified that it is a core mod. I manually enable it ( but I have to use the most updated version ) , and all seems fine. Am I conflicting 2 mods by enabling it? I don't fully understand what mods it interact with.

Sorry, if this has been answered. I tried to run a search on the forums for it, but never got a precise answer.

Most official statement I found: http://en.reddit.com/r/feedthebeast...o_the_new_packs_have_biomes_oplenty_disabled/

Okay, let's define the answer exactly and simply, so everyone knows.

If BoP is enabled, and not used in the worldtype, it still remains in the pack proper. Whilst your world is vanilla, your nether will still be altered and Mystcraft pages will still be found.

BoP is a wonderful mod, but it is also a very heavy mod and one that many people do not want to use. As such, Slow has decided that it will be packed in so everyone can use it, but that one button press is required for it to work. The core reason it is included, as are all disabled mods, is to allow that choice and to ensure the configs that come with it work with the pack.

Speaking of ensuring the configs work with the pack, I need to get back to fixing the previous release.

Hey, while your at it :p

Dynmap doesn't play nice with BoP anymore (since 1.1.3 unleashed). I fixed the config file directive for Dynmap so it can find the BoP configuration now, but even then half of the blocks added no longer draw. Check out the map in my signature. Specifically the volcanic areas and the area around the marked nuclear reactor. ;)

Thank you. So basically, is just by choice. I remember the first time launching Direwolf, and enabling the biomes mod, it was spitting out ID conflicts. Which got temporarily fixed with a new config file, but permanently fixed with the newest BOP Biomes-O-Plenty-0.5.9.4-1.5.2 . The new BOP fixes sooooo many issues from the original version on Direwolf 1.1.2 BTW, cynric? is there currently issues with using Biomes 0.5.9.4 over 0.5.9.3 ? I noticed the latter was still being used.
