Silly Mekanism questions

1. Can universal cables convert energy types, like TE conduits can turn MJ into RF when outputting to machines that use it? If not then how does one go about converting to/from UE joules? My main power setup is going to be a nice big Reactorcraft fission reactor so i'll need some way to change that output into something my Mek factories can use.

2. How fast will the Mekanism 5x ore processing setup work when fully automated? Is it worthwhile or should I just stick with the extractor? Extractors are already simpler to set up and automate, looking at it so unless the Mek process works like a BEAST it may not be worth the effort.

2. Depends on how good your Brine Generation system is, in the end. Most everything else basically runs at up to 1 second per item, with many with 7 items per machine.
Bonus Benefit: Faster machines = less gasses used = higher efficiency.

5x is costly and complicated to set up, most people stop at 3x as it's more than adequate.

Exactly. Then I load up on speed & efficiency upgrades. Ither than that, I feel the 5x stuff is just then fun of engineering the system. Thst is if you're into that.

Universal Cables can output MJ, RF, EU, and Joules (both kinds).

The 4x system runs just as fast as the Enrichment chamber. Considering you can set up a 7x factory and 9x speed boost on top of that, this is probably going to be faster than anything short of RotaryCraft. It'll be a power hog without the efficiency upgrades, and even WITH the efficiency upgrades it'll be a power hog, but it's handled everything I've ever been able to throw at it.

The 5x depends on how much brine output you have.
