What is the bug? youre not able to mine with the sillktouch modifier with a shovel on tinkers construct , you can mine it but it takes ages to mine and yu lose the dirt you mine it vanishesa

It works fine for me. What material is the shovel made out of? It could be mining speed is to low or is the shovel broken.

I stumbled across the speed issue myself not long ago and it's an expected, if unanticipated, behavior as applying a Silky Gem to a tool will decrease the mining speed. On new tools this can result in a mining speed of zero which can then be mitigated by applying redstone for a Haste modifier.
No idea about the dirt problem though.

Silk touch works just fine. Make sure your tool has a positive amount of speed.
