Hi guys, apologies if this is in the wrong area (I'm new here!).

Basically I have been running a ftb server off my pc for some friends and I ( 3-4 people max ).
But since moving house, my Internet connection is no longer up for the job ( 2mb down and 512kb up if I'm lucky!).

On the hunt to get smooth, lag free game play for us all I have decided to get a creeperhost server.

I have a few questions,

1) would the 'zombie' package be suitable for 3-6 players to be lag free and 100% smooth.
2) we have quite a good and long used world that we would hate to have to start again. Can I use FTP and put our current world on to the server and continue like nothing had happened?

Your help would be great

Thanks
Nick

1. I would say yes, probably. But modded servers are not an exact science as it ultimately depends on what is built and what mods are used. With moderation you should be fine.
2. Not used creeper host, but I would expect so. Most self respecting hosts do, and creeper host is very respectable. Although bear in mind most the FTB packs are locked at 1.4.7 now, so if you want new content you'd probably have to start over.

1. Depends on how much you build. Even a single player can load down my server given enough time due to automation (thats a 4.0Ghz i7 with 32GB RAM)

2. If you want just simplicity creeperhost will work. If I remember correctly they do have an FTB option to load in the pack for you.

Wow ok. So this is not a 'yes/no' situation.

Am I right in thinking that the best option is to just go for it and if needs be, upgrade to a bigger plan
At a later date?

Thanks for the replys so far guys.

It's modded minecraft, there rarely is a simple answer :p

And yes to your last, its how I started small and upgrade as necessary. Check creeperhosts policy though, make sure you can upgrade without issue. I'm guessing you can, but its always a good idea to check.

Thanks for your help. I will drop creeperhost an email and take it from there.

Much appreciated.
