Sentry Mob Farm Help

I have set up a blaze farm with sentries to kill any spawned blazes. I didn't expect xp to drop bu that wasn't really my goal. However, items aren't dropping either. Is there any way to rectify this situation without changing how I kill the blazes?

I recall another person on these forums having a problem with blazes not dropping items not too long ago. In any case, unless the mechanic changed in a newer version that I'm not on yet, Sentry Turrets kills do drop items. I used them to farm wisp essences from a chaotic node.

I'm using a vanilla spawner as opposed to a soul shards one. Could that be it?

That's possible.

I can test it out later on my world, probably.

Umm, use melee turtles.. Far better than sentry turrets. You will even get exp, which you can collect with brain in jar or Xp turtle.

If we are playing cool here, I think iron golems with little hats and ribbons are the way to go

You know, unless i'm making a mob farm with xp in mind, I prefer it to not drop xp, since then it just creates a load of lag.

Actually, now I think about it, I just thought of something else: do vanilla iron golems spawn with MFR spawners? I know they don't work with soul shards, but I haven't tried MFR ones.

Tried. Doesn't work!

And, you can just use fences or iron bars to get the xp to drop to a pool of lava if you dont want it

(keep in mind an xp turtle will store enormous amounts of xp
