hey guys :)

I'm sorry if this is the wrong section for this kind of question :/

So , I've wanted to make a storage system with barrels. The router should sort the items in the barrels and should sort every item , which hasn't got a place in the barrels , in one of my "Overflow" chests at the end of my Barrel wall ... The problem I'm having is , that the router sorts the items half/half ... The one half lands in the barrels , the other half in the chests .. Does anyone know how to "fix" this ? (I've searched on the internet and many people had a problem like this too , but I couldnt find any well working solution)

And i have another little question about the chunk loaders .. I've noticed that , every time Me and my friend are ofline and we come back again to the server , there are serveral fires nearby and in the loaded chunk(s) . Is the chunk loader causing the fire ?!

Thanks :)

Ah, this question...

The answer is simple, and one that nobody really wants.

The fact that it puts the same amount in your barrels and in your chest is "working as intended", sadly.
I first thought that a "thoroughness upgrade" would solve that, but no.

If you search a bit on this forum, you will find some makeshift solutions for that specific problem, but none are as simple as we first thought. They are not that hard, but require some extra space and contraption.

EDIT: didn't see the second question...

No, the chunk loader doesn't cause fires, but it keeps the chunk loaded through storms.
Also, some bees can cause fire, and I suspect thaumcraft causes some with the random lightnings strikes without rain, when flux goes out of hand in a loaded chunk somewhere.

Yeh routers aren't the best machines to deal with overflow. There is really no easy way of making them work. Your best bet would be to have another sorting system (RP, BC, CC, GT) deal with random items before feeding the known items into the router to get put into barrels.

And as far as the second question goes, slay_mithos is probably right, lightning would do it. You don't have any lava source blocks around do you as that would also cause fires. Chunk loaders have no fire creating ability whatsoever.

wooden pipe and autarchic gate on your router set to items in inventory-energy pulser. If there is room in the barrels then the items in the router pass through quick enough to not cause the gate to start pulsing, if the barrels are full items get stuck in the router causing the gate to pulse and send them into the pipes that can lead to your overflow chest.

In the case of the attached image, the pipe puts overflow items into a relay which puts them back into the rp2 tube system.

The idea with the autarchic gate isnt bad , but its not working :( The "undefined" items aswell as the items that have a barrel are sucked out...
Sorting machines and filters arent that good , because the sorting system is very large , so its a big outlay to set up tons of filters or sorting machines..

And to my second question :
We haven't got any bees , lava sources or anything thaumcraft related in the area and as long as we're on the server everything is fine .. The problem just appears if we're not on the server :/

Fixed that for ya.

Wasn't there a 1.4.7 update pending like... a year ago? (okay, last week)

Try bandwidth and speed upgrades (bandwidth alone may do) in the router, I no longer have the setup in the picture (server was wiped) but it worked fine when I used it.

Your server admin has probably turned off fire spread. The normal cycle is for lightning to hit causing a fire then the rain from the storm normally puts the fire out. With fire spread turned off the lightning still creates fires but it will not spread and the rain will not put it out.

I went through this 1st hand on the server I run.

There is actually the 1.0.2 that is 1.4.7 last version, but until it is pushed to "recommended", I don't think I will bother, because that usually means that there are problems worked on.

Unfortunatly this will only work until a certain size of the wall o' barrels and speed of input into the router.
if the wall is to big the router will take some time to find the correct barrel (dependend on tps aswell i guess) and this delay is enough to for the gate to snatch that item.
if you pump item into the router fast (max speed quarries e.g.) the gate will pulse and snatch the item after the one which caused the pulse.
at least these were my problems on a server.
