I wanted a lot of Jet Fuel as well to be safe, as i don't feel comfortable until i can produce 10x what i'll ever need. Anyway here is how i proceed for the materials:

-10 grinders dedicated to soul sand and 10 other ones to netherrack for the tar and dusts, all powered by gasoline engines
-to get the above materials, i'm using a whole field of magical crops nether seeds (1 or 2 stacks of seeds) with the ME set to autocrafting soul sand out of them, for netherrack a quick run in a mystcraft all-netherrack world with any automated mining machine will be enough, else the nether itself works well
-magma cream comes from magical crops as well
-blaze rod from some crops, though my stockpile came from spawners. MFR autospawner + Autonomous activators work well, add a Bedrock sword on them for good measure. That was my first setup, now i'm going for some total overkill with 4 lasers, 6 railguns, 14 arrow guns and 5 air pressure guns blasting a single room with spawners... but that's obviously not a good starter setup lol
-ethanol comes from two fermenters running 24/24, leaves and sugar come from MFR farms

I have my fractiona-something unit powered with a pneumatic engine and CVT (full speed) sending the fuel to two max size railcraft steel tanks, with a gate set to "tank empty" so that whenever the internal tank is empty it sends a redstone signal to the engine to make it run for a second or something, enough to fill 5 or 6 buckets.

Needless to say, i have yet to see my tanks empty at all and i'm sitting on about 500K to 1 million of all the above materials as i realized that Jet Fuel isn't that easy to spend efficiently and the gas turbines are dangerous enough that i always prefer to fit some basic engine rather than arrange a ~7blocks deadzone behind them to make sure nobody gets caught into the turbine.

So don't go crazy on the materials :p

Is there another way to make the extractor go really fast without using 64+ magnetostatic engines? (Yes, I am actually attempting to do that).

I'm new to this whole RotaryCraft thing haha.

A) upgrade the magnetostatic
B) Use RoC's engine kofkof gas turbine and some gearbox

Upgrade it?! WHAT? How?! Is it part of v20+?

More than likely, just look upgrades in NEI, if they aren't there then you can't :\.

V22 has them I know that. Tier 5 engine needs an input on 12k RF/t and outputs something like 67MW at max speed

Yeah it depends on your version, i'm on 18b so the magnetostatic/pneumatic output 2048/2048, however on newer version the upgrades make them much better.

Attempted to update.

Got a huge crash report.

My god, what have I done.

You will need to update every single reika mod you have haha. (dragon api, RC, ReactorC, etc)
Huh. I'm getting a texture registering issue with Railcraft now.

First it was an issue with an ID conflict between BoP and Rotarycraft, but now I have no idea what I am doing.

I assumed you only updated Rotarycraft and not the others, my bad.

If it is becoming to much of a hassle to update the mods, just roll back and wait till the pack gets updated :p

I have gotten myself into a huge mess just to get little extra power haha.

Also in newer versions of Rotarycraft, I believe you can convert BC fuel into RC jet fuel using a new machine.

(Hope this makes you more jelly :p)

You are cruel.

P.S: Just realized I didn't update GeoStrata, Electricraft, and DyeTrees.

Man, this guy has so many mods! Reika, you evil genius!

Edit: 67 ID Conflicts

AHahahahahahah. I had something like that when updating his mods, but meh I'm glad that the doc tells you what id ranges you can use :p

You know what, this is all worth the fast extractor.

I'm going for it.

Jesus, the amount of conflict is unreal. What have I done, this is not fixable... :( Hahaha damn.

You've never felt happiness like this.

After an hour or two of changing and mangling my configs.... Ta-da.

They harvest 3 wide, but only replant one wide so you are fine

Actually they replant 3 wide just fine. At least for me they do. I'm using v22.
I have a magical crops plant which is six rows wide and has only two fans. It is working perfectly.

Engine control units are your friend. You can shut them off with a redstone signal so they stop using fuel; you can also let them run slowly with an efficiency gain by right-clicking (I think) the ECU with a screwdriver.

Pre-reactor, my gas turbines ALWAYS use engine control units.

PS: Yeah the turbine section is a pita. Its too bad it even sucks through walls; fortunately you don't get sucked through walls, but I can recall at least one time where I got sucked permanently AGAINST a wall and slammed up and down until the gas ran out. Uggggh.

Indeed i use the engine control unit, but my wife playing with me just kept yelling at me while she was decorating a room on the other side of the wall behind the turbines. Though it was hilarious to see her trapped against the wall, i quickly had to find another room for my engines o_O

At least magnetostatics/pneumatics easily fit anywhere.

Talking about the engine control unit, anyone noticed some weird behaviour with redstone ? I can only make it react to normal redstone or red wire, it doesn't seem to care about rednet or Ender IO's redstone conduits for some reason.
