Rotarycraft Air compressor not working?

HI, I recently discovered rotarycraft engines and wanted to see how effective the steam engines would be as an automatic power source, but I can't get the air compressor to work (the one that turns rotary power to mj). I hook it up to the steam engine, it gets pressure, i tehn hook it up to a wooden pipe and it starts moving, but no power comes through. Is this a bug or am I missing something?

What's connected to the wooden pipe? If there's no place for the power to go, it shouldn't flow.

I tried hooking it up to a quarry, didn't do anything.

The RC steam engine emits very little power, only 0.29MJ/t.

In my experience, it works pretty well at the Hydrokinetic Generator tier.

In my experience it is always safe to assume that any purely free power source will always be nearly useless on its own out side of the very basics. This naturally excludes things like advanced solars/windmills and any other power source that is basically a bunch of free ones duct taped together in one block to save space/lag.
