So you've added a handheld matter transmitter? Cool!

Does it work the same way as Following Mystcraft books, i.e. it stays in your inventory when you use it? I assume so, since you already have the full-block transmitter that stays behind.

Yes it stays in your inventory.

Now this is an epic battle. Multiple ender dragons, withers and ghasts fighting each other! Hard to get a good screenshot though with them flying around all the time:

Sidenote. I am *not* going to allow the ender dragon dimlet to be generated randomly in worlds. This will be one you can only get when you specify it manually.

Can the Sky Biome be generated randomly or via research/scrambling/deconstruction? And does it spawn a single enderdragon? It is the biome in the End, after all, and it did spawn a dragon when a first (and last) used it in Mystcraft in MC 1.2.5 or so.

Also, do the bosses in your epic battle dimension continually respawn, or do you have to explore to find more? Kinda wondering if it's remotely possible to have a safe location to drop a matter receiver in a dimension filled with dragons that destroy everything they touch.

Idea: This goes along with the "natural" matter receiver idea I had a while back. What if the RFTools dimensions generate with a modified receiver that (a) only functions in the dimension it generated in, (b) draws power from the dimension itself (or your phased field generator thingy?), and (c) is wither- and dragon-proof, and therefore (d) can only be picked up with a wrench? That way, you don't need to worry about the withers and dragons and whatnot destroying your only way into the dimension, although you'd still need to protect the return transmitter somehow (like in your inventory).

Oh, and by the way (since I haven't gotten around to updating RFTools AGAIN to test this), does the phased field thingy protect you from death by unpowered teleporter as well as by unpowered dimension?

The sky biome can indeed be generated randomly but that does not spawn ender dragons. I believe the MC code ender dragon spawning might be caused by either entering the end portal or else arriving in the end dimension the first time.

The bosses respawn until a preset maximum (I set the maximum at 4 dragons and 5 withers). For some reason the wither actually follows standard spawning rules (only in the dark) while the ender dragon ignores that.

I'll have to test the RFTools shield at some point. I guess it will probably not be destroyed by the dragon but it will also most likely not stop the dragon from passing through. But yes, there are some nice ideas there.

The phased field thingy does not protect against unpowered teleporter as that is a totally different thing.

Probably sensible. All I can say is a couple years ago, I made a Mystcraft age with the Sky Biome and there was a dragon. That was certainly back in the days before there was any kind of instability other than black decay (which hasn't changed much since then), so... a while ago. Not surprised that that changed.

This could be better than the Mystcraft platformless void age prank. Interesting... Just as long as the dragons don't eat all the spawning area, of course. Best make the terrain out of obsidian or endstone.

If it was possible for a closed box of shields to protect themselves and anything inside from getting destroyed... it would probably not actually be possible to assemble quickly enough if you're constantly being assaulted by four different dragons.

The phased field thingy does not protect against unpowered teleporter as that is a totally different thing.
Makes sense, I guess. In one case, you're being held partially in the dimension and partially in hyperspace, in the other, you don't actually make it out of hyperspace.

Mystcraft, and the sky biome: What matters (or, mattered -- I haven't retested in 1710) is the biome at (0,0). Was true for 147 (personal test), and 164 (from what I heard).

Just a suggestion for something to do later on: Predefined dimensions created through a config file. Would be immensely helpful to quest/challenge modpackers.

I actually had this idea too yesterday. You read my mind or what? :)
