dear god. Ive been playing this pack for a few hours now and I enjoy the theme and all that jazz, Ive never done a HQM modpack before so Im pumped! But dear god how low is the drop rate for pasture seeds?!?! Ive been punching grass for a good 90 minutes and nothing!!! Am i missing something or should i just keep punching away?

Wait until you need to use mutandis to get some of the witchery plants and trees :eek:

I'd watched the DW20 Regrowth first couple of episodes, so when I was hitting stuff with mutandis for saplings, I was also stopping to pick other stuff up as well. You can't get everything (as spanish moss requires shears, and you won't have iron at that point), but if you see witchery stuff that you can use (or mushrooms) when trying to get saplings, stop and grab them on the way past. You'll need them later on.

Have either of you had trouble growing mandrake? Ive got the setup right as far as I can tell but keep getting Belladona seeds! I suppose its just another patience thing eh?

Yeah, crop mutation is a crap shoot.

The biggest tip that I have with this is to try and get every crop to 10/10/10 before trying to create a new mutation. If you cross breed two 10/10/10 seeds, the new ones are 5/5/5 which will then grow quicker and then spread quicker. You can't use this trick with the elemental seeds though, they will always start at 1/1/1.

oh wow i didnt actually know raising their levels did that! thanks heaps man! I will be sure to do that!

Is that still true in the latest version? I could be wrong but I thought they had nerfed that and all newly-crossbred seeds started out at 1/1/1. As I say, though, I could well be wrong.

The version numbers on AgriCraft for Regrowth are 1.7.10-1.4.0-beta-2-1.7.10

I assume that the 1.7.10 refer to the MC version. I'm not sure how current 1.4-beta2 is for Agricraft.

Haven't played Regrowth for a while but this is how I remember it ...

Increasing stats now requires two of the same parent crop adjacent in Agricraft 1.3. Seeds can still spread from one, they just won't increase their stats

either of you guys have a screenshot you could share of a "crop upgrading setup", not mutating but the actual breeding? would be awesome to see a somewhat "efficient" setup!

O is empty
X is a seed and should be fully matured before placing the double-crop sticks below
C is the target (ie double cropsticks here)

When the new seed grows, replace the worst of the original four, bonemeal it to mature and go again. It's probably not the most efficient, but it's quicker than only using two parent seeds.

That was.. Ages ago, as in ~0.6.x IIRC, and has long since been changed to allow development from one parent...
As for what was being said, when mutating new seeds, the new species will have half of the mean of the parents stats.
