After extensive use in 1.5.2 with Millenaire on a server I have found it to be quite stable now and as far as server load, rather minimal. Should we re-look at having Millenaire a more mainline mod in modpack now rather then a nice-to-have in SSP? I am curious on why we wouldn't want it in Unleashed or Direwolf20 now that is has vastly stablized. Thoughts?

I'm pretty sure they don't want it in since it doesn't play well with mod villagers. Currently TC villagers are the only way of getting oreberries, TC3 villagers are the only way of getting knowledge fragments, Mystcraft villagers are the only easily replicated source of mystcraft pages...

Unless it's been improved since the last time I used it, then Millenaire isn't all that stable even without including other mods that are known to conflict.

Explain how you can grow more, if you may.

You don't. You find them, and take an axe or mattock to them. They grow in caves. Quarries don't break them, so check your quarries after (if you use them) for any floating bush-like things.

They need to be in the dark to grow berries, so keep that in mind when you plant them. I think they also have to be placed on stone blocks.

Yeah, stone blocks and beyond two or so blocks of a torch. Won't even plant that close. The only underground one I know of that doesn't care about light is the Essence Berry.

Gives you an excuse to use sticky pistons ;)

Put little piston-closed "windows" on the roof, and make the door from them as well. Slap torches above the 'slider' on said windows. When closed, the room will be completely dark. Flip the lever and WHAM! Door's open and the lights are on.

Or you could use the Blackout Curtains from Extra Utilities too.

It seems to work just fine. I don't see how vanilla villagers and the TC and forestry villages factor into this since they are separate villages and systems.

I have in my local world Millenaire and normal villages co-existing near each other fine. So also not see problem for normal villages from mod adding to mod packs.

I use Drawbridges. Flip the lever, opens the door, and turns on lights. Flip it when I leave and the lights go off and the door closes.

I think we should get back on the topic regarding the mod and not about oreberry bushes. :p

I grow oreberries in a darkish room in my base. I occasionally get mobs spawning in there but, as touching the oreberry bushes does damage, they typically suicide themselves without being a problem.[DOUBLEPOST=1378510574][/DOUBLEPOST]Oops. Lol. I haven't tried millenaire since 1.2.5 so no comment on that. Maybe I'll check it out.

Also have nice dark place for its at base. I use red tourches for some light that not prevent its grow.

Lost as always
In 1.5.x I had oreberry bushes in a 'darkroom' with an MFR Harvester pulling them out. Since the entire floor was covered in bushes, no mobs would spawn. I used a different setup for each ore type, and had a 3 x 3 square of bushes in each one.

In 1.6.x, the bushes are a lot more rare and a little harder to automate. Fortunately, Engineer's Toolbox is up to the task!

As far as Millenaire, I had a problem with them hogging up a tons of ID slots, and you couldn't move the ID's around without breaking the mod.
