I can easy see the difference, if not, TEST IT*. Eloraam develops her mod as she likes it.
*Who don't like testing? You know you want to.

Of course the developer creates the mod however he/she wants but often times the community drives small or even big changes with the path the mod goes on. I'm not sure Eloraam had in mind "let's make these idiots try to figure out colors and modes! >:)"... Our gameplay time would be better spent on developing complicated systems and contraptions. This was one of my biggest problems when adopting the sorting machine and it's still an impediment when I create new systems(this applies mainly to the modes button).

In case you can't figure out the modes button, you can:
  1. Look at the layout of the gui (in case of a sorting machine).
  2. look if the button makes sense.
  3. look it up on the wiki.

I am going to allow myself to be a little bit sarcastic here just because you have not read the first post or you didn't bother to remember it .... and also just for the heck of it!

Are you sure this is the correct order in which I can figure out the buttons? I thought you first had to close Minecraft and search the wiki, then buy a new monitor and keep that wiki opened at all times on the new monitor while playing on the first one. Then make sure you learn how to code Minecraft mods and integrate everything with Forge and then make a furnace.... and then go mine for tin and copper and then smelt them and then get some saplings and plant trees just so you can make charcoal which then has to go with some sand into an alloy furnace which by the way... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...

I am really sorry for the rant but it gets on my nerves when I see a reply like this. I'm sure you had the best intentions in mind when you posted but this is not a topic entitled "Help me learn how to use the sorting machine". I admit I am not a genius concerning RedPower but even before the tubes appeared I was making complex systems with BC pipes; I do LPs on modded Minecraft and I even do tutorials ..... so of course I get a little bit edgy when you teach me exactly what I've said in the first post.

Indeed I saw that, when she said she had answered many times the question(somebody actually posted here a link to that clip) but can you also share with us a video where she actually gave the answer? From what I can assume she will be adding tooltips but I want more information if possible(when? what are her plans? etc. etc.)....
On a side note, this thread was made before I had seen that video.

The actual answer being that she would love to do it, but she has so much other stuff to do just to make the mod clear of bugs that she can't find any time to implement this for now, maybe later, when she will have finished the stuff she is working on.

So... not before a year or two I would say^^

In that case we should try and make as much noise as possible and maybe, just maybe, she'll take pitty with us and code it sooner.

let eloraan finish 1.4 first and give here some time to cool down after! she has bin working very hard on 1.4 to push it out.

This is a great idea but still keep in mind that there is time needed to code this in. So ask it a bit later so she can get a rest ?

The thing is Eloraam doesn't do updates very often so my hope was that... if enough buzz is made about this subject before she puts a final version out ... maybe she could include this feature in the next release.
From the video mentioned earlier in the thread I do however see that she already has sufficient enough pressure from the guys in ForgeCraft so I'm pretty optimistic.

alright on the subject of men not distinguishing between colors, it is not a genetic or chromosomal difference between men and women that causes this, read the first chapter in a psychology book and it will tell you that though there are some inherent differences between men and women (aggressivness, territoriality, protective instinct, etc.) these are present in both sexes, men have a slightly higher average of the first two and women the most last one. the main difference between men and women is sociological, or that they are raised differently, so if a man is raised "correctly" by societies' standards, he would not know the difference between lime and green, i as a man have had this issue for a long time, but i concluded the simplist solution was to memorize them, aka the lighter green is lime, purple is magenta, and for those of us who dont want to do that right them down.

but tooltips? pfff i would settle for a writible book so i wouldnt have to pull up the wiki all the time to remember how to use the regulator.
