Whilst looking at Bigglesworth's "1.5 Yet?" Spreadsheet, I saw that Redpower said '"Dev". (Should I put the period inside our outside of the quotations? The Quotation isn't of a sentence.) Is this true? I can't find anything about RP2 being actively worked on.

At least since MC 2.0 comes out.

Sarcasm aside, at most 4 months, I have no clue otherwise. Probably not terribly long, as I seem to be getting that the internal changes are relatively minor compared to 1.2.5->1.3.2, though there's probably some pressure to come up with better redstone stuff than 1.5 does.

My question is, was Bigglesworth right? Has there been public announcement? Is Forgecraft updated?

Check Eloraam's twitter, she did write 'Back on RP full-time now. Lots of surprises coming, but first, I'll likely be releasing a new bugfix for 1.4.6 and a port to 1.5.' Problem is she said this back in Feb 19th.

does every thread you make have to include a poll..?
Of course there are planned updates, when it comes to Eloraam it seems like she had the entire mod planned before she wrote the first line of code (obv not the case but it seems that way) and knew exactly what parts would be released and in what order.

one big change that is going to mess with devs. 1.5 changes how textures are handled and stored in MC. There is not longer a terrain.png but now there is a folder and ever texture has its own file now.

Ah, it pains me to see all those people new to the modding scene trolling on RP.
RP was completely wrecked by 1.3 update, that is the reason it took so much time to update.
Before that, it was more or less the same as IC2 and BC as far as updating goes.
Heck, I am sure that we sometimes had to wait way more for forestry, BC addons and IC2 addons, way longer than we did have to wait for RP.

If Mojang made their new redstone in a comprehensive way, it should not be hard to reflect the changes, and nothing else should really break it.
Textures is something that every mod has to work with anyway, so I am pretty sure that it has already been covered, just as the other mods did.

Just as an info, in the 1.3 update, even Forge took more than a month to release something stable enough to be used by the clients, where it usually takes at most two weeks.

3 people apparently think that this update will take more that half a year to complete, so even longer than the 1.3/1.4 took?

No matter what you say, there will always be someone who turns it into an argument against GregTech or Redpower. Logic is irrelevant.

I certainly hope RP updates soon, and fixes the most annoying bugs (bag dupe, managers crashing).

Woah there I am not trolling at all here just stating that there is at least one change that can through a curve ball into all mod updates from 1.4 to 1.5

Not a huge curve ball but still one that could cuase some devs a bit more trouble if they had there textures done by others. Worse comes to wrose a few moments in photoshop can they can cut and paste there existing textures into the new layout for 1.5

Personally I do not fore see RP taking more then a few months and that really as you pointed out is dependent on how well the home team did there Redstone code. There is a vary strong possablity RP items will fuction as is with 1.5 since there logic is handled inside the mod and not hooked into the redstone logic itself. If anything I belive all RP needs to do is add on code to handing singal strengths..

Redpower already has signal strengths. You just don't notice it most of the time, as the strength of a signal going through alloy wire starts at 255. But if you run a few dozen blocks long wire, you will see it slowly fading in color.

Frankly all the people worried about the 1.5 redstone are freaking out for no good reason. If you paid any attention at all to the update, you'd know that nothing was actually changed. Mojang just added a few new components that interact with redstone in new ways. Modders do that all the time and it never breaks anything. Nothing redstone-related was changed or removed in 1.5. (Okay some BUDs, which have nothing to do with Redpower.) Signal strength was there way before 1.5, it was there when redstone was first implemented.

Shes a lady that likes to keep to herself. Have to go by what she said last at least for a reasonable amount of time. Coding isnt always easy.

I doubt it would take that long unless she gets busy with real life stuff and can't work on the mod (I believe that was part of the reason it was delayed last time). I'm not a modder or anything but from just looking at 1.5 they fixed a couple bugs (mainly piston ones) and added new stuff. Its interesting how many people didn't know that redstone had varying signal strengths before.
