They still think like this too, a decade later. This was a message I got on my thread about a year ago:
CSa8BvO.png

The "she" he is referring to is a girl I had a (short-lived) attraction to who, yes, shot me down very harshly (though that in and of itself is not unusual), and who was one of the ones in charge of the yearbook one year, and had me - or rather, a drawing of me with puffing cheeks and as wide as a car in the picture - on the front page, something she claimed was being nice.

"Fat"...well, I was the fat kid, especially from Grades 4-10.

The "hair" was the hairstyle my parents imposed on me until I turned 18 or so, which did indeed resemble a mushroom in shape.

Waterloo is a highly regarded university a short distance away, one many of my classmates went to, and though I - as most of you know - did as well academically with post-secondary education as any of them, the running gag was that I was destined to be a failure as an adult.

The "retarded kid" is a friend of mine - who remains a friend, though we have not seen each other in person lately - who was also shy and ostracized by many. If I ever mentioned a friend who is "very good at math" or who writes piano music, this is who I was referring to.

The "pictures on facebook" were some photos taken during the years, some of which were doctored (usually to inflate me or my face, though one instance...let's just say it was significant I was under 18 at the time) and put on Facebook, which were indeed popular (I never saw them myself, having never visited the facebook website) and commonly gossiped about.

I have no idea how he found me, but if he comes back he will regret it.
Now this is where becoming a rocket scientist would come in handy, do you have any connections to the military?

I was wondering the same thing.

I can't say I know how you feel but I can say I know what you went through. That was pretty much my experience in a perochial school in grades 1-5

I have tried many times to find out who Reika is and I have had no success. Course that guy had an advantage but still...

I'm pretty sure documented premeditated murder using military weaponry to get revenge on bullies would win you multiple felonies, but that doesn't mean I don't like the idea.
Who are they going to get to replace him then? He is a f***ing rocket scientist. This guy is probably unemployed if he takes the time to be such a waste of everything. They might just decide to leave it be.

Well, the fact that someone took the time to find you @Reika tells me that they probably aren't going very far in life, which is a good thing.
Which I find surprising, because they are all academically successful and many are from wealthy families.

Now this is where becoming a rocket scientist would come in handy, do you have any connections to the military?
No, I refuse to work on any such project, and have a fairly negative opinion of military work in general. Which reminds me of a funny story:

[Relevant: There is an air force base nearby which occasionally discharges large number of recruits, many of which have attitude problems]
Me: [Sitting on a not-very-crowded train, waiting for it to leave Union Station]
Guy in military uniform: "Move."
Me: *ignore*
Guy: "You deaf? Gimme the seat!"
Me: "There are 20 or more seats left in this car alone, at least two of which are window seats. Why the hell do you want this one so badly?"
Guy: "I'm giving you a direct order, civvie! Now move!"
Me: "And what makes you think I will obey anything you say, order or not?"
Guy: "Are you challenging me? Who are you to question me?"
Me: "I'm that guy who if I worked on military projects could be one of the ones designing that $100 million dick extension you call a plane."
Guy: *turns red, leaves after giving a "If we were alone I would kill you right now" look*

Then please at least tell me you put him in his place by telling him that you became a F***ING LITERAL ROCKET SCIENTIST!

Why do the military feel like the are incharge? The only instance when civilians really have to listen to a soldier is during an evacuation or a time of emergency

This made my day. Thank you for the amazing laugh.

Personally I blame boot camp and the military culture; they're both designed to quite literally destroy your individuality and remake you as an obedient little cog in the machine. Also until you get to certain points in a command structure, you're subject to a lot of nasty consequences for not being one of those unthinking cogs. For the people that either get high on having authority, or got subsumed into the unthinkingly-obey-orders culture? You get the asshats that (at all levels) give the military a bad reputation. I know a lot of soldiers and former soldiers. Most of them are absolutely amazing people. I attribute that to them being better than the military could manage to break. No I don't have a particularly high opinion of the armed forces of the world as a concept, organization, or how they handle themselves in practice. I have a lot of sympathy for the individuals, but the organization can get stuffed as far as I'm concerned

Consider this fair warning: anyone that gives me the "they died protecting your freedom" speech is going to get a VERY long (it will make my posts in here and Reddit seem miniscule in comparison) and passionate rant in their inbox; mostly because it does NOT belong in the thread. My family has a lot of military veterans in it, half of my friends are (or were) in the armed forces. Unless you yourself are in them, I probably have a better grasp of the situation than you do and I'm WAY past sick and tired of people giving me the holier-than-thou attitude when it comes to my opinion on war and military organizations. I have my opinion for a reason, don't attack my opinion, mmk? Feel free to continue discussing the subject civilly, I'm just warning people about my personal trigger here.

What the fuck is wrong with people like that?
Everything and nothing. Reika's pre-adulthood was worse than my own, but I've also seen worse. There's a reason I'm a misanthrope.

@Reika Take solace in the fact that not everyone is like that. While your average human being is either so stupid that I marvel at their ability to breathe, or malicious enough that I'm sad we put people in jail for victimless non-dangerous "crimes" (No I'm not going to say what. I'm not that stupid and my particular disagreements with what should be legal are probably different from everyone else's anyway); at least there are people in the world that still care. We might disagree with you, but we try to engage with you and find acceptable compromises. People who can understand where you're coming from because we've experienced similar situations, and comrades with whom you can complain to a sympathetic audience about this crapsack world we call "Earth".

On the subject of how do you make a user read? You can't. It's the old horse-water adage. You just have to aim for what you consider the non-idiots (or the not-idiots-enough)and deal with the mass of people that fall below that bar. Please don't remove the gating mechanic from RoC! It's very useful for themed packs, and I'm sure that the people who originally campaigned for it have done their damndest to make sure their users know. But you're always going to find someone (probably a lot of someones) that will abuse your policies, or configuration options, or just ignore your ToU entirely. As one of the people who want to see you succeed and grow, please don't ruin it for the rest of us on account of some of the idiots?

Besides, complaining about those bad apples to us has got to make you feel at least a little better :)
If you get more bad apples, then you get to have more fun as we all stare agape in disbelief, share our own similar "war" stories, or just plain laugh at those bad apples.

Wow... Just... wow...
What a piece of work.

This person must lead pretty pathetic life if they found it prudent to stalk your face book, make a Minecraft forum account and then make a spiteful post.
You gotta feel sorry for them, to have clung to such memories fondly is a tell tale sign of mental illness.

I lucked out with my bullies; They where mostly the dumb bored type who just hit you if you are unfortunate enough to be close to them when they are bored.
I didn't get many of those intensely spiteful ones.
