The modding API will probably not come close to what we have now with FML and Forge. ASM manipulation? Nope.

"Alpha 1 of the Plug API will allow you to define crafting table recipes, and custom minecarts.

Also, we changed stuff so that third party hacks, such as 'Forge' no longer function."

...WHAT?!?! That doesn't make any sense on any level! Who on EARTH could look at Minecraft at see THAT?!?! I have officially concluded that the only people who are stupider than ignorant web-surfers are people who are affiliated with government or major news companies. In other words, the more influence someone's opinion has, the more idiotic that individual has the capacity to become.

The best part of it is that Turkey is known for censorship, so Turkish people might even risk getting Minecraft blocked... >.<
