9 UU -> 1 diamond.
Witch farm for glowstone -> glowstone block
make MFR tree farm.
pipe sludge harvester produces into sludge boiler.
extract soul sand sludge boiler produces.
put soul sand in furnace.
vile dust + glowstone = corrupted essence
Soul forge to get netherrack from cobble.
create a soul shard
Mine the endstone

That is a very unclear answer. You should probably answer this in a little more descriptive way.

surround glowstone block with netherrack.
surround netherrack with endstone.
right click glowstone block with diamond.
netherrack and glowstone turns into endstone.
so infinite endstone
But again I'm back to trying to get the Endstone. If I have to surround netherack (in a crafting table?) with endstone, how do I get the end stone without having to actually go to the End?
Also, should have mentioned that I'm playing the Ultimate Pack with is locked at 1.4.7. Might decide to look up add these mods in it and update them.

The soul shard process involves placing the end stone, netherrack, and glowstone in the world, not a crafting table. It's all a moot point, though, since you need endstone to begin with... and is only in 1.5.
As far as I know, there's no way to get end stone in the default 1.4 Ultimate pack without going to the end first. :c

Swamp MystAge or just be lucky and find a swamp. With MFR AutoSpawners Trans Powder method is viable.

if you are looking for endstone but can't kill the dragon
go to the end with ender pouch and pumpkin head etc
mine stone, put all your stuff your pouch, put pouch in pouch (weird!)
die naked and alone - respawn in your nice warm bed

After watching the video, I think I'll go the way of using the Tome of Alkahest (A.K.A. Mr. CheatyPants). But I found a safe way to enter and leave the End when I want...Mystcraft Linking Books and Stands. As long as you don't spawn on the surface, you're safe.
Ultimate Pack is not 1.5. My nephew and I will be looking for all the updated mods and we'll do without the ones that aren't updated...namely RedPower.
But anyone have any suggestions for a good replacement for RedPower?

Going to have to go with that. Also, going to miss the Pneumatic Tubes, Deployers and all the rest that made RedPower great. Just can't wait any more for Eloraam.
