Can hollow cover blocks be placed to cover a hole with a pipe sticking through it?

Pneumatic Tubes. When you have Gold Transport Pipes, they are faster. When you have the accelerator and magtubes, its infinitely exaggerating faster than Gold Transport Pipes, but requires blutricity,

Blulectricity? IS that what powers the Blulectirc alloy Furnace? How do I make that power source?

There are greater concerns than speed when choosing between tubes and pipes.[DOUBLEPOST=1368413136][/DOUBLEPOST]

so far only 3 methods:
Solar Panels
Thermopiles
Windmills

Solars are arguably the easiest.
Windmills produce the most but need maintenance
Thermopiles are the weakest, in pretty much every regard other than coolness.

Blutricity currently has 3 possible sources.
Solar panels (the ones crafted with 8 blu doped wafers)
Kinetic Generators (So far - a windmill)
Thermopiles - put lava on one side, water on the rest and power comes out. Don't ask me how.

Using the wire made using blu alloy ingots.

Edit

I presume by this you mean the alloy furnace? From RP? Made with some bricks and something?
If so, the non-blulectric version is powered off coal etc like any furnace. The blulectric version is faster and uses blu tricitry to run.

However you said alloy smelter, which is actually a GregTech machine which therefore needs power from eu carrying cable. If using GregTech version 2.90h or later (as in 1.0.2 ultimate) then you can apply an mj upgrade To allow it to run off MJ, ie conductive pipe.

Your best bet would be eu if its an alloy smelter.

Good God Almighty, this is getting complicated. I don't see the recipe for it in NEI.

But it needs blulectricity, which means I have to build a blulectric engine. Right?

no that is to power other things that require mj blue electric things require their own specific things so that is the need for the thermal piles, solar panels and windmills to power their own machines.

No. The blulectric engine actually converts blutricity over to MJ. What you need is what people here have told you, one of the three blutricity generating engines, which are the Solar Panel (RP2), Thermopile, or Kinetic Generator (Used together with the Windmill or the Wind Turbine). These three are your ONLY options for generating blutricity, until Eloraam gets to making new ways of making it, or perhaps a block that converts MJ or EU over to blutricity.

To conduct the power over from these engines to your blutricity using machines, you need either Blue Alloy Wire or 10Kv Wire, i believe it is called. The first one can't transport the power too far, and it can't handle too high of a voltage, but it can transport higher amounts of power (High amperage), the second one is high voltage, low amperage. Omicron has a guide that explains all you ever wanted to know about blutricity in a easy to understand fashion. Maybe he'll pop up in the thread and you can follow a link in his signature to it. In any case, machines that use blutricity don't use an awful lot of it. Most of the time, a couple solar panels and a Battery Box (not BatBox) will suffice. The only real power hogs of the blutricity world are really big frame machines, as they consume power based on how many frames are being moved at once... So there you have it. I suggest you hop over on the FTB wiki and read up on Redpower 2 and it's machines, as the information there is pretty complete and pretty accurate. It should suffice for mostly anything short of complicated RP2 logic and frame stuff. And sortrons. Dear god, sortrons.

You need Solar Panels (The thin ones), thermopiles (lava and water touching the block), and/or Kinetic Generators (Windmills).
