I have 3 Electrical Engines hooked up to 3 MFEs (powered by a couple of Solar Panels) with an LV Transformer between them and it seem that the Quarry is running slow. Is there a way to increase the speed and efficiency of it?

Are your MFEs gathering excess energy? If not then you should upgrade your solar panels because your electric engines are probably under powered.

I power 2 quarrys simultaneously using 6 magma engines going into a redstone energy cell and from there to the quarrys and they are moving pretty dang fast

Yes, they are gathering excess energy, but it's slow. What is the best possible solar panels I should have?

You also need 5 (unmodified) electrical engines to run a Quarry at full speed. At that point it will mine about 2.5 blocks per second.

Once FTB updates to 1.4.5, you will get a newer Quarry revision that accepts even more power (many dozens of electrical engines) to run even faster (machinegun style fast).

It's not updated to 1.4.5 yet? Some of the packs are already 1.4.5.

the FTB pack is currently on 1.4.2, waiting for the update to redpower before it goes to 1.4.5

Ah, OK. But what about Voxel, Universal Electric and Magic World Packs? They are for 1.4.5 already.

I am pretty shure that one advanced solar panel per electrical engine will power the engine with a little bit of excess.

Is there a link to info on this new quarry? I couldn't find anything about it.

Does anyone know what circuit I should be using to upgrade the electrical engines for efficiency and speed?

You can find info on it here on the boards and around the web, as well as in some of Direwolf20's Forgecraft videos, but I figure a practical demonstration is the best kind of info ;)

There's a couple people chatting about various Buildcraft related things, so it might be interesting to watch the whole thing. But the magic happens starting at roughly 03:20.

How do you output the energy to the Quarry? I build this in a test world and although the energy from the Magma Engines goes into the Redstone Energy Cell, nothing is going to the Quarry.

Make sure your energy conduits are pointing the right way. On every connection to a machine or cell, you can switch them between input and output (and currently also "any" on some but not all connections, but that goes away with the enxt update).

Toggle it by rightlicking the section with a buildcraft wrench or TE crescent thingy.

The quarry goes quite fast in the last magic pack, I have 6 combustion engines with fuel and there is no energy getting stored in the energy cell, it mines like 6 blocks per second
