I tried to do this in MC 1.7.10 once, with a Botania block (futura block, is that botania?). Anyways, Enderio crashed back then. Not when using the painting to paint the facade though, but at the moment I placed it.
Back then I asked the EnderIO team to check whether or not the output facade would be placeable before starting the painting process.
