Pump

I am trying to make a moat for a castle and want to pump water in to fill it, i know this could be done very easily with the red power pump but as we no longer have it, are there any other good alternatives?

If you are just trying to fill the moat, the best way is probably fill it in with ice, then break the ice.

You can use thermal expansion glacial precipitators to create ice, btw.

Also, I think fluid mechanics has something like this, and that's a shame because the mod is so heavily undocumented, but it looks awesome if I could figure if out

Does a filler breaking ice cause it to turn into water?

Because you could quite easily do this with a filler if that works..
Fill up the area with ice, and then clear it out again (Might break some of the terrain if it's not square)

Be a man; use vanilla tactics. Dig out the top layer. Find a square part and make a 2x2 water source then place water in the corner going outward until you hit a wall. Then place a bucket in each line and it will all be auto-filling in.
