Does anyone else have issues with the project table not holding a recipe when you exit it? Say you click the "?" to put a recipe then either hit E or ESC (escape) to get out of it, then go back into it and the recipe doesn't stay in the table. I thought maybe it was an issue with being on a single-player world, but even opening the world to LAN and running a local server (a non-client server) didn't change anything. There's also no configuration options, that I can see, to make the recipe persist. Any help would be appreciated!

Also, I'm sorry if this is in the wrong category. :p

The project table uses its own recipe scrolls you make with paper & dye from the RP flowers, when you have the items in place for a recipe you add the scroll (I forget its name) & click the button below it to make a recipe scroll for that recipe, this can be done over & over for each type of recipe you use often, when you wish to use them add the recipe scroll to the top slot if you have the required mats in the table you can just pull the finished item out, if not the mats requires show as red, the scrolls are reusable so keep them safe.

Are the scrolls required in order for recipes to persist? Unless I'm thinking of a different machine/item, I've seen people just click the little question mark for how to craft an item and the project table remembered it without the use of making any scrolls and such.

I think your mixing up the project table & the xy craft fabricator, the project table does now hold the recipes with out a scroll in the top slot, the fabricator hold the last recipe untill refreshed.

Would that be the only machine that holds the recipe? I could have sworn it was the project table, but I could be wrong. I'll try to find the video to see if I can see what the item was they were using

The project table does hold the recipe, try shift clicking the question mark, with all the materials available. That should work.

Would that also hold it even if you didn't have every required item? I more or less need it to hold the recipe for when I don't have all the items required on me

shift click a is 1.5+ option RP is 1.4.7, but that said its been a while since I used 1.4.7 pack so could be wrong about project table holding recipe when re-opened, damn it now I need to go load up a pack & test..

Edit: yep just tested shift click does not work, unless the mats are in your inventory not in the table & the recipe is not held when you close & re-open the project table, unless you have the recipe scroll in place or all the required mats :) in place.

Okay, the shift-click thing didn't work. And I'm convinced that it was a project table that I saw in the video. :/

I've never known the rp project table to hold a recipe after you close it's ui. However, I don't know everything. But you did ask if anyone else was having recipes from nei being nonpersistant. I only play MC 1.4.7 and that only ssp. The scrolls are the only way I know to get the functionality your talking about with the rp project table.

When you use a scroll or whatever, can you just leave a blank one in the slot instead of fully saving the recipe? I might have just missed the scroll part, and was curious as to what the slot to the left of the 3x3 crafting grid was. I'll give that a shot though, thanks!

You combine indigo dye with a piece of paper and you get a Blank Plan. Place that Blank Plan in the slot to the left of the crafting grid. When you fill the crafting grid with a recipe a little button appears below the blank scroll slot and if you press it it will record that recipe on the Blank. It becomes a 'Named' Plan at that point. You can leave the Named Plan in the slot and the UI of the Project Table will retain the recipe's ghost in the crafting grid when you close then reopen the ui. As far as I can tell a Blank Plan will not retain a recipe.

I'll have to look at my YouTube history then and see if I can find the video of where I saw the functionality. I wanna say it couldn't have been a project table, but (from what I remember) it had the exact same layout. :/ I can obviously live without the persistent recipe, but it would be easy to be able to temporary store it (until I craft the item) in the grid until I have all the resources.

same I even loaded up a 1.4.7 pack to make sure it will NOT have the recipe after you close & re-open the project table.

I'm guessing here that you are trying to make it hold the NEI ghost recipe? It doesn't hold that. You need to either:

1) use a blueprint.

2) put the crafting items into the crafting grid. It will pull out of the project table inventory to craft. The recipe will persist as long as you don't run out of the mats in the tables inventory.

Yes, that is what I'm trying to do. Is there anything that does that by default, as in without needing to craft something to get it to stay?

You need to either:

1) use a blueprint.

2) put the crafting items into the crafting grid. It will pull out of the project table inventory to craft. The recipe will persist as long as you don't run out of the mats in the tables inventory.
1) I'll have to try that as well

2) I knew of that because I did that a few times while making chests and stuff.

Not to my knowledge, but I haven't really got into xycraft so I don't know if the fabricator can.
