Problems growing Canopy Trees???

Hey, I was hoping I could get a definitive answer to this problem. 1st off details.

I'm playing FTB Mincrack Pack(v8.1.1)
I'm attempting to play my entire game inside the Twilight Forest and wanted to build my base up in a canopy tree in a Highlands Biome. I tired bonemeal, no growth either as a single or with 2x2 saplings. I also went to my test world and tired to grow saplings with a Forestry: Forester, Thaumcraft: Hoe of Growth and several stacks of bonemeal and even naturally waited for 3 hours. Still no success.

I've read on the forums that this may be buggy but would like to know for sure becuase I've also read that both bonemeal and nautral growth is possible....

Any help would be appreciated.

I am having similar problems, I want to put some canopy trees in the normal world and build my base up in them, but I can't get them to grow. Tried it on survival and creative in both the twilight forest as well as the normal world, and it doesn't work. Would love to know when or if its going to be fixed.
