Hi there,

I'm not sure if this was the right section to post in but if not, maybe mods can move it, thanks.

So now to my problem.

I have a engine room and sometimes something happens and the pipes (BC3) just build up energy and then explodes. So is there some logic explanation to this behavior?

Here is a pic of the setup, its the same with my tree farm but there it is the same spot every time that explodes.

Tree farm pipes:

I've tried to remove any chunkloader etc but nothing seems to help.
The thermionic fabricator sits there because often it works in some way that the fabricator stops the pipes from building up energy :)

I have 3 quarrys online so the energy should go to them and it does but sometimes the energy stays in the pipes.

I've had that happen with my Arboretum power setup. It seems to be a bug in BC, because it's a setup that worked fine, then one day didn't. A server restart, and it worked again. I call "bug".

I'm going to move my MJ power generation and transport away from BC to TE. Automation that's designed to be babysat isn't worth my time, even when it's bug-free.

if you use buildcraft stuff, and don't blow up something at least once, or you are cheating or you are doing something wrong.

Unless you dont use conductive pipes at all and just attach engines directly to machine. Quarry takes all the energy up to 50 MJ/t i believe, so theres no buildup with stirlings, and you can cool combustions with water, wich is infinite, for pipes there are safe redstone engines, assembly table should do just fine with stirling engines, and if you are already this far in game you can make gates for failsafes. Now of course if you play with Forestry and Thermal expansion machines there is significantly bigger need for MJ but also safer engines (TE only jam and dont explode, eletrcical and biogas from forestry dont explode either, not sure about peat fired).

Instead of making a new thread i ask the question here,

Is there some mod that fix auto restart of my server? Also auto-save would be nice to have.

I just posted about this a few days ago, I had the same problem. There are a few low-tier solutions.

The one I decided on was to use an RP2 Buffer, Item Detector, and State Cell to control my engines. I don't have time to tear it apart to show you exactly the internals, but if you understand what the machines do the application should be obvious. I have also put a "manual start" button on to help prime the system.

Some screenshots below:
The back of my TE production line, fired products are ejected into the buffer, which tubes them. The item detector sends a redstone pulse for each object:

That pulse runs under the system and to a state cell, set to 15 seconds:

The high output of the state cell connects to the engine (in this case, a biofuel-powered combustion engine).

This is very close to as good as what you'd get with gates. Power buildup can still occur, but should never cause outrageous explosions. Make sure if you do put a manual control line in not to use a lever like I did. Other people came and used my shop and forgot to turn it off and blew up half my workshop despite the state cell system I put in place. :(

that's why I said buildcraft stuff.

people don't get jokes? ok, let me fix it:

it you use combustion engines and pipes to power a quarry without gates, or it blows up or you are doing something wrong.

Core buildcraft is very prone to explosions, in my experience, steam and TE are much safer
