Yeah, that's my next project. Currenly I'm in the startup-phase :)

So I build one yesterday. Well, I think I'll just be building craptons of boilers and lasers from now on because damn, that's some nice yield! What's also nice is that during the night it dug up almost a stack of emerald ore which I had a HUGE shortage on. This means I can now just build whatever filters I want and tune them to whatever I need. Heck, I can have different lasers for different ores and turn them on/off depending on what I need automatically.

I build 4 64x64 quarries but I don't think I'll need those anymore.

Impractical and Time consuming, lol.

In addition to laying out and placing your quarries, extending 64 128 blocks of track to the next quarry nexus is trivial. Even moving your liquid unloaders, cart loaders and setting up your CEs takes only a few minutes if you use the same pattern. The base depot remains unchanged.

So, Yes its elaborate, but my goal (as stated) was to not teleport items in this world. Trying out Railcraft was a lotta fun.

Great idea and it sounds like a lot of fun ! Trying out new things and putting limits in place helps to spawn creativity and learning in other areas. I try to do things differently every world reset, whether it's something like "no item teleporting", "no lava power" or simply "I'll fully explore and use every piece of mod X". I don't get any prize for "winning" at Minecraft. For me, the journey is way more important than the destination, i.e. final build.

What I do is place my quarry at Y180ish, then just pop down about 8 or so Mekanism wind turbines. Will run it at max speed no problem at all. If you're not playing with Mekanism though... install it, cause it's amazing.
