Powered Armor slows my Diamond pickaxe mining speed. A lot.

I cannot find anything on google or on the forums or on the mods own webpage on this.

I just put a pickaxe that had Fortune 1 on it, and it came out with Fortune 1, Efficiency 4 THREE times, and Unbreaking 3. I didnt know if the Efficiency would stack, so I tried out the pickaxe and it seemed no faster than a normal diamond pickaxe.

I completely remove my power armor (Modular Power Armor) and put my nano armor back on, and the pick will knock out a block of stone so fast it almost looks like Creative mode.

Could there be some bug that negates enchanting while wearing MPS armor? If so, it would mean swords are also not working. Or is this some sort of encumbrance thing? Anyone know why this would happen?

Yes, this affects tool usage? Without flight control the jetpack is almost useless.

Flying slows down mining speed similar to swimming or being on a ladder/vine. Aqua Affinity will remove the swimming penalty but it doesn't help against the flying or holding onto a ladder/vine. Vanilla feature even though you can't fly in survival mode there, flying gets affected by how the ladder slowdown is coded most likely.

So this only happens if you are in the air? I noticed that the jetpack makes you move fast even when on the ground, so does that mean the game considers me to be 'flying' at all times, and mining will always be slow?

Yeah most likely, haven't used MPS or GraviSuite so can't say for certain.

If you hold your downward movement key (default: Z) the game will temporarily see you as being on the ground, allowing you to mine fast.

A bit annoying, but it works. Or it used to.

You can press K to bind a key to the flight control so you can turn it on and off. Just turn it off when you land and you should mine at normal speed. If you want to mine something high up you can float up to it, stick a cobblestone on the wall next to it and then land. If you leave flight control always on it's hard to actually stay on the ground... for example if you are looking slightly downwards and back up, you'll float up instead of just walking backwards.

Well the slowed down mining rate for him is due to his always being in flight. Wouldn't aqua infinity help with that?

Aqua affinity only stops the mining speed slowdown if you're in the water, not if you're flying. Last time I checked flying in the water actually decreases your mining speed more than just flying or being underwater.

man... you need to check dictionary to get the difference between "infinity" and a"affinity".

Just to note in case anyone reads this... it also affects the power tool/glove. Hold z to keep from flying and it cuts trees and mines at super speed....
