true. storing energy is much easier with a set of MFSUs (or with gregtech, a LESU or AESU), instead of turning energy in oil, refine that, and burn it in combustion engines or boilers.

it seems, most players work around that problem by just setting up a treefarm, allowing them to run the boiler(s) forever...

and one bucket of fuel gives something over 850k MJ in a full heat 36-boiler.

I don't think you understand my point. Oil Fabricator has nothing to do with this, and it does NOT generate a positive amount of energy. It's required 584kMJ to generate a bucket of oil, and 16kMJ to convert it to fuel, so there's no infinite energy cycle. My point was that if you burn the Fuel in the Combustion Engine, convert with PowerConverter to EU, you are gaining more EU than burning into a Diesel Generator. That was my point, maybe GregTech output for 1 bucket of fuel is low, maybe not (come'on, 1.3MEU for 1 bucket?).

Yeah, the GregTech output is low (or at least lopsided). Fuel in BC is a *very* high-density energy source. Its considered to be ~6 times denser than BioFuel variant. That's due to the effort it normally takes to find oil, refine it and process it.

Part of the problem is that fuel in BC produces slightly more MJ/t than other fuels but lasts far, far longer. I suspect the Diesel Generator doesn't mirror this same effect.

People have mentioned infinite energy loops. I enjoy exploiting things.

Are there any alternate loops in the current Ultimate version besides steam to EU to oil to boiler to steam? How may I best break the game with it?

Igneous Extruder -> Make Cobblestone - > Recycler -> Scrap in Generator

That's the most OP infinite energy source there is out there, but since you need more than 100 recyclers to get this working smoothly, I don't recommend on a SMP.
