My self destruct is...fairly accident proof. Probably not enough. It's pretty much a nuke encased with obsidian, the timer is in there too. I should probably make the wire always on so I can't accidentally power it. Although then I have to worry about punching stuff. Unless I upgrade to wireless redstone. Urg. Unfortunately I decided to be cliche evil so I can't just DISMANTLE it.:p

It's mostly there in case I start feeling endgame type depression. I wonder if there is a way to clear radiation though.
Then I could have lorebooks in my next base! RPG type playstyles are awesome.

Even if I do blow myself up by accident, most of my stuff comes from "offshore" bases with specific tasks. Evil Overlord Tower is mostly control of everything else, and a hub.

I do like this idea I've used to before not so much as a power gauge but as a turn off my genarators.

But still a really basic wait to get a rough idea of stored power levels.

Sent from my PC using a Keyboard.
I used it back in 1.2.5 on a stack of 15 msfu's fed by a CUSAC reactor along with nuclear controls add-on to manage the reactor. I know it was overkill but it was fun. Thanks to colored wire and bundled cable it's easy to put the meter just about anywhere. With the reactor I just fed it to a transformer and fed the HV power into the side of the stack to quick charge all of the mfsu's at once. Had power for days on one charge.

Yeah you could do that with wireless red stone too if you liked.

But the IC2/GT power arry cards kind of make it redundent. But still sometimes old school is cool and who does not like a old school led power gauge?

If you do it right with RP microblocks, you can get a nice retro mad scientist feel going on in you base's power generation core.

as to wireless redstone always on is not secure. one jammer and boom.

use an immibis online player detector a computer with modem and a gregtech player detector set to only respond to your presence within 16 spherical block radius. and and gate their outputs together into the boom doom machine.

if you aren't online, you aren't near the selected trigger point, and you do not input a proper password the output will stay off. red alloy wire runs can reach 255 blocks, that should be enough for multiple evenly spaced runs through secure walled ducts.

as to the main issue

try making chokepoints and use powerconverters to gate an eu stage in mj production if its centralized. then you can use wireless nuclear control cards with the industrial information panels to get a near realtime display of each point you set up.

ie mj produced>convert to eu>big eu storage box with energy storage monitor attached>convert to mj>out.

the eu stuff is even easier, and one can combine energy storage data cards to display 6 monitored points on the same display.

also it will offer to display multiple reads per eu storage unit monitored. current eu, capacity, fill %, space free.
with a multicard in a display it will also offer an option to display the total for the monitored values.

1x6 aesu's on the line? can set the display to just the fill % and total capacity of 600,000,000 eu. couple examples of thse with extenders and color upgrades in below image if that's what you like.

have you played with the good old eu splitter cables from ic2? apply a signal from a logic block and it cuts flow through the cable. also handy for backup storage feeds you can enable at will, and otherwise doing power routing.

Woah. WOAH. Man, that's impressive. I think I'm going to need to blow out one of my walls for that setup, but WOW! That's impressive, and also what I'm looking for. I'll probably stick with my ghetto gauge with lamps for now though, or at least until I read up on some of those.

And i guess no wireless redstone for me, but 255 is the build height so no problems, as it's set up vertically.

Ofc, I could start using MFFS and ban jammers in the area, but I don't want to do that.

Now THAT is one heck of a setup. Beyond me at the moment, guess I need to learn some lua. Lol

Yeah I never understood the need to have those "sent from" messages.

It's the default setting in tapatalk, you actually have to go in and disable it, which most people probably don't realise. It's their way of advertising the software, and the fact you can use it on your favourite forums. Annoying, though, which is why mine's disabled.

no those were nuclear control panels. no coding. the look like cc displays thanks to a color upgrade allowing one to select screen and text color.
save the lua for really good displays with nifty graphs and pie charts. that double as control switches by clicking the appropriate region on the display.

Something like this? Nuclear Control mod
