Windows .jar Possibility of increasing memory usage beyond 1GB mark?

Hi, i have question which i didnt saw after checking few sites. Is it possible to use more than 1GB of memory? I have 16 on my use and with 1GB my game lags horribly (out of memory). So that's the question, how to allow of use half of my memory for FTB mods?

Launch the launcher, click on Options tab, there should be a slider for RAM.

Make sure you have the correct version of Java installed, you need the 64 bit version to be able to assign more than 1 GB of memory.

This is because 32 bit Java cannot read more than 1 GB of RAM. Always remember, make sure when given the option, to always download the software bit-type that matches your operating system bit-type
