Well the holy grail so far as I'm concerned (and probably I speak for most people) is to have transport pipes/tubes that don't flood the pipe with items when the empty container/inventory can only contain 1 or 1 stack then have the rest bounce back/around the rest of the piping. I guess that's where the RP manager comes in but managers are too expensive to start with and if you have a lot of them then you need to consider blutricity. I really love Managers but to have an intelligent piping system do that would shoot the "drool" factor off the top of the scale.

The TE guys seem to be working hard on making their systems smarter than US (the end users, not a bad design brief for anything really) so whatever the implementation is it should be good :)

With Kraph's recent tweets, looks like logistics pipes 2 is coming along nicely.

BTW, do you know that currently sawmills are currently (barely) the most efficient way to generate power (BC or IC2) from wood?
Log = 300 MJ
Planks = 4*300 MJ = 1200 MJ
Charcoal (log in furnace) = 1600 MJ - 160 MJ = 1440 MJ
Sawmill (6 planks + charcoal from sawdust) = 6*300 MJ - 80 MJ + 1/8*(1600 MJ - 160 MJ)= 1900 MJ
