Calling PC builders.
My laptop's getting really old and can not handle FTB anymore, so I want a new PC that can run FTB and other games with good FPS.
Since I don't know much about building a PC, I'm wondering if anyone is willing to help me pick out the parts for the PC and teach me some tips for building a PC, or show me a very nice build.
I am going to be using the new computer for gaming (Mostly minecraft, FTB) and making animations.
Budget: $1000

If your budget is $1000 my first advice is to stay away from Intel.

Comparison (from Amazon,com... Better prices for all items are almost certainly to be found with a little search-fu):
http://www.amazon.com/Intel-i7-5960X-Haswell-E-Processor-BX80648I75960X/dp/B00MMLXIHM

http://www.amazon.com/Amd-FD9590FHHKWOF-Fx-9590-8-core-Black/dp/B00DGGW3MI/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1416856399&sr=1-1&keywords=amd fx 9590&pebp=1416856585324

I don't know if this is the fastest Intel part available right now because I haven't used Intel CPUs in my personal machines since AMD had better performing 80286 chips for less back in the 80's, but the AMD part is top of the line.

While the Intel part may be faster, it's not worth the extra $750 to me.

Just as an example for a full system:
http://www.amazon.com/Gaming-Computer-4-7Ghz-CORSAIR-COOLING/dp/B00M3HGZ7U/ref=sr_1_5?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1416856399&sr=1-5&keywords=amd fx 9590&pebp=1416856927956

The only differences between this and my system:
Different Motherboard
My CPU is an older 8-core AMD (FX-8350) running stock @ 4GHz with the provided heatsink/fan.
My ram is 1333MHz
My video card is about 4 years old (GeForce 9600 GT, 512MB on-board ram)
I run Windows 8.1

I see no lag other than that known to be caused by software bugs. Of course, your mileage may vary :D
