Hi Guys,

This may seem like a weird one but I'm after the ability to make mobs peaceful for specific players. No need for details but my wife suffers severe anxiety attacks (she is recovering from something) and she used to play MC with us when we ran bukkit and I configured it such that the mobs left her alone and it was quite a peaceful/therapeutic thing to occupy her mind. Everyone stopped playing for a while and now my friend has setup a FTB server and we've been REALLY enjoying it. My partner would love to join us again but silly as it sounds honestly cant handle mobs/creepers etc through no fault of her own.

Person running the server is reluctant to try bukkitforge or mess with modpacks "because dont want to ruin the auto updating" etc. But if there is any simple way of doing this? I'm a programmer i COULD write a server mod to do it IF its a simple thing to get the server to load an extra mod (like if its just one line in a config or something)?

Or perhaps is there any armour we could give her that repels all mobs or makes them passive similar to the tamed cat effect on a creeper?

Any suggestions welcome, would love to solve this one.

The servers don't auto update. (Unless your using the Open to LAN feature for an SSP world). I've never messed with bukkitforge personally, but two of the servers I have played on have used it and neither admin had a problem configuring it. Other than that the other options are Ultimate Cheat Armor, as mentioned above or setting her game mode to creative.

EDIT: edited for clairity

hi guys - thanks for replies - the cheat armour seems perfect! however we spawned the set recommended (cheat armour, ultimate solar helm, nano legs and boots) and then put them on to test them out and whenever we walked near a mob it would see us, attack and ALWAYS killed us in one hit. Any clues what that is about? Opposite of desired effect!

The problem with creative is she enjoys gatherng and crafting to build and finds it a bit boring in creative. Also moderately scared what will happen if she spawns in one of the more explosive machines xD

Might I recommend she just not play FTB? I know it's not the answer you want but, mobs aren't the only problem for her. As you've said machines might explode. Especially with GT installed. Those things love to explode.

can we sue gregtech now pls

but really, I can't believe he hasn't added a config to completely turn off explosions.

I believe that either in the IC2 or Gregtech configs you can disable the "explosiveness" of the machines.

I thought he said 'spawned' in and that was in response to being in creative. I suppose she could craft a nuke, but it's like trying to keep someone from putting their hand in the fire at that point. Eventually, you either convince them not to do that or remove the stove and buy a microwave.

Back to the mystcraft age. If ya go that route just remember if you allow 'dungeons' that those contain spawners and while the creeper isn't one I've ever seen, they still have skeletons, zombies and spiders. Mines will have cave spider spawners. Stronghold will have silverfish spawner.

Those will only generate if you use the pages "Dungeons", "Strongholds", and "Mine Shafts". Leaving those off of your descriptive book and using the single biome mushroom island, should craft an age where no enemies will spawn unless you do something like make a spawner yourself.

As for how to craft the age, check out the other topics on this board - there are guides floating around. :)

In player.dat there is Invulnerable tag which seems to make player invulnerable if set to 1. There is also Abilities/invulnerable, but it doesn't seem to work.

Basically mobs can attack the person, but they won't hurt him, the same with fall damage, fire, lava etc. I'd also set mobgriefing to false in this situation.

Mute the sounds, and the explosion will only have visual.
As machines explosions don't cause a visual explosion (at least some of them don't), it will greatly reduce risks.

Machines arnt really a problem - she is most likely to stick to structure building and only make basic machines - my comment was in relation to creative mode and if she got curious about somehint that turned out to be explosive what would happen to other players stuff, not her xD there is a saftey learning curve that is skipped when going straight to creative in ftb.

no the only real concerns are monsters and i like the sound of both mystcraft and player.dat invunerable ideas! Will experiment :D
